It seems to be a weird symptom of our fanbase. I do remeber some fans were hoping for losses to get rid of Butch. Now some fans are all about saying our players suck as a show of support for CJP.

I know there were several that were hoping for us to lose so it would expedite Butch's departure. I didn't feel that way, but I understood it.

I've seen your obsession with this and maybe you're right, but I don't think its as much of a show of support for Pruitt as that's just the way they see it. I think its a bit of both, not enough good players AND coaching could have done better. Jmo tho. I don't let it bother me. If he gets his players and does really really well, no one will give a crap. If he doesn't, no one will give a crap.

But I don't even understand the angle above, it makes no sense to me.

.... and we care... why again? Just step back and read all the Butch bashing that goes on here... It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic. Now what would be funny is if he negotiates a contract that still has UT paying him a truck load of money.

The only thing that I care about is that once again his contract was written so as to avoid the "don't write your contract in your new job this way" clause. I could give two ***** about him. It's the $$ we continue to pay him without seeking legal restitution.

Show me a college sports site that doesn't bash former coaches. You can't discuss the current state of the team without mentioning the performance of Butch Jones. He is relevant. Why are you so sensitive to it?

What I dont get is why anyone with a different opinion than yours is obsessed or lets its bother them. Perhaps we are just on a message board expressing an opinion, just like you.

If so, your point holds some water.

FTR, I dont recall that happening much if at all until he had trashed the place, quit and was looking for a way out.

The answer is it doesn't make sense? It does to him and I'm curious of his explanation.

Pretty simple. When someone expresses the same opinion over and over in more than one thread, and makes fun of others that has a different opinion than theirs, I think its pretty strong evidence of it bothering them and they are obsessing over it.

But that is just my opinion, obviously it doesn't mean its a fact.

Yeah, people defended Butch against those that thought it was a bad hire in year one. I dont remember Butch blaming his first year on sucky players so I dont know what the reaction would have been.

I remember that. Dont remember anyone hoping he lost so he would get canned in his first year. That sounds a little too convenient given your position. Do you have a link for Pruitt blaming the season on sucky players? Be curious to read that and the other quote I haven't seen posted yet in that regard.

I wish BJ the best at Maryland while remaining happy that he is no longer doing his damage in Knoxville.

He set the program back years while managing to have top tier talent on the roster. Just look what many of them did after transferring and/or going to the league.

It should be the new official definition of Botch.

Guess I am one of the lucky few, Butch Jones did not make me one single cent, and, Butch Jones did not cost me one single cent. Sorry so many here have apparently lost so much due to his buyout.
