Boo Carter rumors from Basilio

And THAT is the problem.
Whether he's deciding or meditating on the issue INSTEAD OF BEING LOCKED IN.

Fall practice is about to start dude.
Yeah the team is pissed and probably over him.

Nico was just a few months ago.

Let him decide his future somewhere else....
Exactly. He's shown himself to be undependable and not fully committed to the team/program. Forgive the analogy, but would this be a guy you'd want to share a foxhole with when the bullets start flying? Who's to say he won't check out again when things get tough or he gets pissy again? Might be a talented kid, but I don't see any way they can depend on Carter going forward. There can't be enough trust in him to give him such a prominent role in our game planning can they? And how do you let Carter pull this then play him over kids who've been bleeding and sweating with their mates all summer long? You do that and you nuke team chemistry and lose the respect of your roster.

I'm being repetitive, but Heupel is already playing with house money due to Nico. For the culture and Heupel's future, he really only has one choice that makes sense. Carter has to go.

I’m not going to attack the guy personally, because I have no idea what kind of a person he is, but I will attack what college athletics have become, specifically college football, and it’s damn disgusting!
WTH are we even doing at this point?
Does anyone know what’s going on or do we just throw 💩 against the wall and call it college football?
College football is a joke now.
I’m going to quote my nice who went to high school with him

“He’s a great football player but I wouldn’t be alone in a room with him”

That's one thing I admire about Vitello. If the family is nutty or the kid has issues, he won't let him on the front porch. Heupel played with fire for Nico and Carter. He's likely going to get burned twice. Might be time to stop playing with fire?
Guess Coach will have to live with the 95%+ character success rate. Probably easy to think you can fix guys once you get them into a healthy community. Sadly, some never work out and you move on. Could have been a great success story, but…., facts will eventually tell the whole truth. Nobody thought there was no risk.

That’s fair, coming from someone who knows him.
I wasn’t discounting your post, just that I don’t want to speak on someone I know nothing about, other than their 40 time.

My husband works a man who claims to be close friends with the uncle.

Man told my husband that Boo missed a practice for personal reasons, it wasn't a big deal. Doesn't know how this stuff got started but that he would be playing this fall. Nor is he supposedly in California.

Take it for what it's worth, which isn't much.

Another "take it for what it's worth " article

There has been so much rumor and innuendo - much of which includes a lot of nonsense on message boards - that perhaps waiting til all the facts come out is a core value. Everyone is so fast to offer takes and opinions, but this report provides a little more daylight. The thing that jumps out to me is the comments from his former representation. The fact that he's not even bothered to inform his previous agent he's moving on from him and then coupled with now multiple reports of dissension with the leadership council shows an immense sign of disrespect and immaturity. That could represent a cancerous combination in the locker room. So, it might be time to move on from him.

But the whole gang thing was so much more exciting gossip.
🤷‍♂️

Yes, he's undoubtedly concerned with views which isn't unlike ESPN, Fox, CNN, etc. You act as though that's awful. It's actually common for anyone who has any kind of media show.

No one, absolutely no one makes you watch or listen nor take seriously one bit of any show from anyone. Want to hurt TB or any other broadcast? Ignore it and any mention from or of it.

Plenty of goofballs start podcasts/video shows and disappear fast because they are ignored. This guy hasn't disappeared because people enjoy his schtick. Good for him for longevity if nothing else.

I'm not defending TB specifically but I'm saying he's harmless. It's not that big of a deal whatever he or others might say as long as he's not advocating crime or violence or whatever.
There is something wrong with being first for the sake of being first, regardless of if it's the right information just so you can get views. Dont care if it's Basilio or anyone else. I dont watch the guy and haven't took anything serious anyone has posted on here from him since the Lovie Smith thing. You think it's harmless. I think he's a clown doing a disservice. Agree to disagree

Like every other player that ends up in these rumor, story, whispers type situations - he's on the team until he's not on the team.
While he's on the team, he gets my full support.
When he's off the team, thanks for your contribution, best of luck in the future, and I trust the coaches made the best decision for the team.

The War Room today confirmed he went to California and has been talking to the coaches through a "third party" intermediary.

If this coming from you then I believe it. You are one of the few internet entities that I find trust worthy. And this is why I called him a thug.

To be fair, you get a lot more bad apples in football than in baseball.

I also think Heupel had to take some chances in his first couple recruiting classes before he started winning and the program started recruiting itself again.

If Boo had been an out of state kid I don’t think Heup would have brought him in personally. There was just so much pressure that cycle to make sure he ended up here.
And some guys grow up and turn into good men and some never do. Heupel wasn’t wrong to give him the opportunity. I trust he won’t tolerate what is happening if it’s true.

Though I don’t think people necessarily intend to do so, sometimes using the words thugs or gangs can seem racially charged.
Therefore, I try to avoid them and I will just say someone is running with the wrong or a rough crowd or something like that.

There's a big difference between "I think he's a clown doing a disservice" because you don't like something and doing damage.

I'm sorry your feelings are hurt by him but that's not damage.

I am on the edge of not caring about football sadly. I will always love the Vols, but I really really miss what wearing pantone 151 once meant to these players.

To be fair, we had players like this in the past, they just didn't jump teams. Look at 1999 Nebraska vs Tennessee as one of the most egregious example. Players were clearly checked-out that game. At least they come out now in the offseason versus not trying on the field.

As Heupel says, "Next man up."

The common denominator here with both of these guys are that the parents are being an issue. Apparently Boo’s mom is already playing the victim, based on a social media interaction that I saw. Same thing with Big Nic calling Pete Naikos a Bi7ch. These people need to grow the hell up .

Next man up... just kick from the team and move on. I guess it is a bigger deal to us in that we haven't recruited as well as some of our rivals but Alabama and Georgia have the same issues and they just let the players go.

The problem in this situation is, as is the case with many college teams, that the next man up is not nearly as talented as the starter.
