Impatience? Its been 3 years. If he could have been able to bring us back, he would have shown at least glimpses by now. I think he has patched alot of the problems weve had. His filled the roster with decent athletes. Ill give him cred for that, but thats about it.
Positives:
Proven track record of winning, even in the SEC.
Big enough name to maintain and improve on current recruiting.
No NCAA baggage.
Needs us almost as bad as we need him.
Probably willing to sign a contract that would not financially expose UT.
Negatives:
Needs motorcycle driving lessons.

And maybe all of us who are screaming from the rooftops for a coaching change could be the catylist that causes this team to circle the wagons and prove us wrong. I highly doubt it, but stranger things have happened.why can't people just wait until october is over to speculate on the coaching position. No one knows what october holds for us yet. After october call for dooleys head all you want. However you may be pleasently suprised with the results. Lets just wait and see
Were the Cincinnati and NC State games not a glimpse? Those were games where he was at full strength. Was LSU two years ago not a glimpse? We shouldn't have even been sniffing a win in that game.
The real test is still to come. I agree that the games above aren't enough. We need to see a lot more glimpses THIS year. He's gonna get plenty of opportunities. I'll wait to label him a failure until he doesnt get it done this season.
I was wait and see based on some of these same things until the UF game. I think UT based on talent should have won that game. Under no circumstances should this roster have been dominated by that UF team the way it was in the 2nd half.
IMO, Dooley basically needs a "miracle" now. I don't think 7 wins makes it. If they perform like they did vs UF then they won't beat Bama, UGA, or USCe and will likely lose to either Vandy, Mizzou, or MSU.
Dooley will be here for at least the next 2 years. Forget about Gruden, Petrino or your other pipe dreams. Gruden got fired at Tampa Bay for losing. Petrino left the Falcons in a lurch and would do the same to UT. I don't get where you people in fantasy land are coming from, but if Dooley leaves what makes you believe the next guy would be better? I believe you have not liked Dooley from the start and you would stand up and cheer if we replaced him with Madonna. Many top flight coaches would run for the hills if Hart called because of some of these irrational "fans".
