Bobby Petrino

All this rancor could turn out too be totally unnecessary !
BTW, the last pic I saw of BP , he was suffering from a very bad case of road rash. :birgits_giggle::unsure:

Seriously? Petrino?

Here's the biggest "negative".... no integrity. It showed when he got fired from Arkansas but it showed also in the way he handled and left previous jobs. You can't trust the guy.

Charlie Strong....I am starting the band wagon for him on here.

I honestly don't see anyone out there right now who is both available and "elite". If you want another "up and comer" then UVA's coach seems to be doing nice work.

I just do not see a Saban-like homerun hire right now. Maybe someone emerges later in the season?

Impatience? Its been 3 years. If he could have been able to bring us back, he would have shown at least glimpses by now. I think he has patched alot of the problems weve had. His filled the roster with decent athletes. Ill give him cred for that, but thats about it.

Were the Cincinnati and NC State games not a glimpse? Those were games where he was at full strength. Was LSU two years ago not a glimpse? We shouldn't have even been sniffing a win in that game.

The real test is still to come. I agree that the games above aren't enough. We need to see a lot more glimpses THIS year. He's gonna get plenty of opportunities. I'll wait to label him a failure until he doesnt get it done this season.

Positives:

Proven track record of winning, even in the SEC.

Big enough name to maintain and improve on current recruiting.

No NCAA baggage.

Needs us almost as bad as we need him.

Probably willing to sign a contract that would not financially expose UT.

Negatives:

Needs motorcycle driving lessons.

Tennessee has too much integrity to EVER hire that waste of space. He is a loser with zero moral character. He would win some games short-term and destroy the program long-term. PASS.

No, how could we expect a team to respect a guy with his background.

Look at the UF loss, 2 of the plays our DB that was beat was #10...Im not going to name names, but a Kiffin/Fulmer recruit that was beat on 2 of the long plays...just need to have confidence in Hart to control the strings..

why can't people just wait until october is over to speculate on the coaching position. No one knows what october holds for us yet. After october call for dooleys head all you want. However you may be pleasently suprised with the results. Lets just wait and see

And maybe all of us who are screaming from the rooftops for a coaching change could be the catylist that causes this team to circle the wagons and prove us wrong. I highly doubt it, but stranger things have happened.

It's funny, I bet there would be a totally different song being sang if BP came in and started winning. He would go from scum to saint in the eyes of VN.

Yeah, who would want a coach that took Louisville within a game of the NC game and made Arkansas a top 5 team? I could think of many worse choices than Petrino, a proven BIG TIME winner.

I was wait and see based on some of these same things until the UF game. I think UT based on talent should have won that game. Under no circumstances should this roster have been dominated by that UF team the way it was in the 2nd half.

IMO, Dooley basically needs a "miracle" now. I don't think 7 wins makes it. If they perform like they did vs UF then they won't beat Bama, UGA, or USCe and will likely lose to either Vandy, Mizzou, or MSU.

I think based on talent/home field advantage it should have been a really close game. I'm telling you, I was as disappointed as I've been in years after the Florida game. It was on my birthday. Pretty much ruined it.

But I still think it was just a few plays that beat us. Just a few breakdowns here and there. Overall we were good most of that game. I still think these players are trying to figure out how to finish games against an opponent that doesn't let up. None of our players have ever had the talent to do it. There are very few seniors. I still think we're moving in a good direction. We may just not be there yet.

Don't know if Dooley can can get us there or not. We're about to find out.

Dooley will be here for at least the next 2 years. Forget about Gruden, Petrino or your other pipe dreams. Gruden got fired at Tampa Bay for losing. Petrino left the Falcons in a lurch and would do the same to UT. I don't get where you people in fantasy land are coming from, but if Dooley leaves what makes you believe the next guy would be better? I believe you have not liked Dooley from the start and you would stand up and cheer if we replaced him with Madonna. Many top flight coaches would run for the hills if Hart called because of some of these irrational "fans".

I promise you...In fact I will almost guarantee that if Dooley loses the next 4 games that he is gone before the season is over...End of story

Petrino resigned from the falcons to take the job at Arkansas. Petrino informed his players of his decision to resign via a four-sentence laminated note left at the locker of each player. I've disliked him since then. He's a great coach, but I wouldn't want him.
