First being tied for a division does not make one a conference winner.......epically when you don't even go the championship game.
Petrino won C USA title in 04 and a B East title in 06
Also as I have stated before 4 10 to 10+ seasons is not exactly what I think everyone thinks of when they think of Petrino.......I mean it seems like some think he is almost always 10+. Also not saying he isn't a good coach (because he is), but with the baggage, with Louisville now, and with nothing showing he would be elite......I would look elsewhere.
Franklin - prob would/maybe should not happen
Chip
David Shaw
Stoops
Patterson
Chris Peterson
Venables
maybe even the Utah coach
Martin
Based on the rules, I think it does but I digress. So Petrino hasnt done anything except win two/three conference championships and a few 10 win seasons but your number one choice has one 10 win season and no conference championships? Dont get me wrong, I think Franklin would be a great hire. I would rather have him than Petrino but to act like Petrino isn't as good or better coach just makes no sense. Bad person maybe but a great football coach.
I like your list but think most of it is unrealistic. We would have to make Franklin one of the top 3 highest paid coaches to get him here and on paper I don't see that he is any better than Petrino who would be considerably cheaper and probably doesnt have much more baggage. Shaw/Stoops/Patterson ain't coming. Chris Peterson would be a great choice. Him and Kelly could potentially work. Tee and Venables are risky. I think they would excite the fan base but you definitely don't know what you are going to get.
