Q&A with ESPN's Tom Luginbill on Tennessee recruiting, its growing class and Butch Jones | Evan's Eleven
We know Jones said that we sign 30 others feel confident it's a hard 30 with the chance to offer 2 greyshirts. The "blueshirt" notion is crazy, but unless we somehow pull numbers out of our butt I think we are looking at 30/32 as our maximum class size with the exception of "blueshirting".

Does anyone know if we have 1 or 2 commitments that may meet this criteria? It's a very obscure loophole and there has been no indication that Tenn will use it, but it definitely is an interesting idea to consider. No tellin' what a loophole like that, if it is even possible, could do for the stretching and bending of numbers in this class.Blue-shirting: This scheme was originated by New Mexico State but has not been practiced widely around the nation. Heres how it works: Officially, a player arrives in the summer as a walk-on. Once football practice begins, hes awarded a scholarship. The school is allowed to count the scholarship forward against the 2015 class but the player can play immediately.
Theres a big catch: The student-athlete may not have been recruited, as defined by NCAA bylaws. That means no official visit to campus, no in-home visits from coaches, no signed National Letter of Intent or athletic aid.
Only a handful of players, if any, would meet that criteria.
