If this idea catches on, fans will be obligated to wear blue or fear of looking like you "don't support cops" or looking like the "Vols are too big of a priority in your life". Cop support is trendy now, even though a large majority of the population actually supports them. Businesses are raking in the dough by doing the LEO recognition events/making merchandise to sell, and with the unfortunate event of a local officer giving the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, it will not stop any time soon.
However, I do not see the University of Tennessee supporting this idea and advertising it, as they are heavily invested in gaining the support of minorities (who would find a way to view this as a recognition of prejudice and hate) in order to achieve their ultimate goal of becoming a "Top 25 University".
I 100% support the idea of recognizing police officers and their support staff, as I have over a half dozen family members that wear the badge, but I don't believe that this is the best way to show our support. Less than 5% of fans in attendance will wear blue and it will look as if we do not support those who serve us.
