Blaming Dooley Again? You Guys Blind?

It is all about winning. We are 1-10 in the SEC since 2011. Not good enough. Not close to being good enough.

I expected to see the SEC record at least get to 50% this year. We will probably be 0-5 going into November. That isn't acceptable at Tennessee with a coach in his third year.

The UT staff called a pretty good game on both sides of the ball tonight. They players looked focused and confident.
The offense was on the field for only 23:29 but gained 361. We ran 34 times for 213 yards = 6.3 ypc! [Vs. UGA, we ran 40 times for 197 = 4.9 ypc.] Bray did his usual 52% vs. SEC teams, but made several very nice throws.
The D didn't give up any long plays tonight (a major improvement), just a lot of short and middle critical plays. None of the D heroics we grew accustomed to under Majors and Fulmer.
Bottom Line: Until we recruit elite D talent that can shrink the field, we're going to be a 7-5 team no matter who is the HC. IMO, Sal can do that...but there's no quick answer.

Some people know nothing about football. You sir are one of these people.

I would like to see Howard in the I rather than the wildcat. Seems like his first step is full speed

Not blaming Dooley but definitely Sunseri. He does not call a very good game. We can't get pressure with our fronts but yet he won't blitz in long passing situations. Brewer on Bumphis late in the game is on him on the 3rd down conversion. The guys not being disciplined in their zones and assignments fall on player and coach. I'll hand it to him he made adjustments and did much better the second half, but the first half is what beat us.

Really? I think we can give Dooley 10 years, and this is the results we can expect to get.

I've taken up for Dooley as much as everyone in here, but i certainly would not call that a well-called game. Dooley is only as good as the coaches he hires, and I really question hiring Sal. He might be a great long term guy, but Dooley HAD to win this year. Not exactly a good time to change your defense over.

I think we have talent on both sides of the ball, but our coordinators are killing us. 3rd and one, bomb it when your defense has been on the field about the entire time. Next drive, 3rd and four, bomb it. Doesn't make sense. And Sal giving up 3rd and 19 and 3rd and 10, is not good.

It's not my fault, it's just bad luck.

Start recruiting talented players that aren't dumbasses and lack leadership, that would help a lot.

I have been here for a few years now but I don't post much. I have been a wait and see kind of guy with Dooley. I have now seen and waited all I can. There is no excuse for what was displayed tonight. We had two weeks to prepare for this game. I think we could have had two months and the result would be the same under this staff.

I'm as big a Dooley supporter as anyone, but this team was flat out-coached tonight, plain and simple. We have a hell of a lot more talent than MSU.

For the 1st 20 minutes the MSU QB was reading and throwing like PManning. Made only one bad throw all night and about 15 great throws at critical moments.

How do you coach your way out of that situation if your don't have a front 7 like Florida's?

We have Defensive talent on the field but Sal baby is throwing so much crap at them instead of teaching them instinct on following the ball and for goodness sakes just wrapping up. Do you see him trying to show them things on the sidelines or do you see him screaming and spitting his da** "chew" in their faces. You score points like we have the last two ballgames and even the Florida game (till the end) and have somewhat of a defense and we're either undefeated or sitting with one loss. Let's see how old Sal coaches against his "butt buddies" in the crimson next week.....Commish

Totally agree.

Out coached once again!

0-13 vs ranked teams. 0-15 next two weeks. This staff has not put together 1, NOT 1 complete game. Chaney called a bad 1st half minus the first drive. Our defense was not lined up and had very bad coverage looks all night. We had multiple special team eff ups. If not for Patterson we would have looked even worse.

This game was not lost by a final drive, it was lost in the first half when we were throwing deep on 3rd and short.

So you're gonna blame the guy that's been here 6 games but let the guy that's been here 3 years have a pass?

General Neyland phoned. They took a vote in heaven. Reggie White counted the votes. Dools is out.

Whose job is it to explain to Rivera that kick offs are live balls?

But, how can you be a college football player and not know that. I knew that way before high school.

Not taking up for Dooley but that is weak to put that one play on him.

Dooley deserves plenty of blame for the 3 years. But Sal has killed us this year. Dooley hired him, so its on him to. But IMO if Dooley could've worked things out with Wilcox and kept him, we could be a one loss team right now.

When I see talent like Pig Howard, Corderelle Patterson (who has more natural talent than any Vol since Eric Berry), A J Johnson, Justin Hunter, etc., I just shake my head and think, what a shame. All their talent going to waste, because they made the mistake of choosing to play for Tennessee and one of the worst coaching staffs in all FBS football. Our players are the ones who are paying the highest price for the ineptitude of Dooley, Sunseri, and the rest of that worthless lot.

Your post started out "not blaming Dooley"

Was a selling point of Dooley and Sunseri the fact they coached "under Saban"? Because greatness by osmosis is pretty well out the window at this point.
