Bull. There are no excuses in business. If you want to make a deal, then you propose it and close it. Fulmer probably does not know how to do that. Currie did not. Most people do not. Still, you decide what you want and go for it.
It feels like the best two coaches available who also have expressed desire to be here have been blacklisted (though Leach left and re-entered the blacklist over the course of a few days).
How do we make it clear to our administration Vol fans want both of these guys over most other clown coaches they could come up with? Do we continue to riot if they cannot bring us a quality name when they are clearly there for the taking?
It's a two way street.
You can't make someone love you.
This is not a draft and you own the rights to whatever coach you happen to want.
Not every failure in landing a coach is on the athletic department.
In addition, the bell that was rung this past week can't be unrung. It has consequences.
Folks, the Kiffin thing.
This isn't a situation where Fulmer was upset about losing his job, but liked and respected Kiffin. Then, he felt betrayed like all Vol fans by Kiffin leaving Tennessee.
He couldn't stand Kiffin and was repulsed by Kiffin then. He probably popped a cork on a bottle of champagne when Kiffin left.
And it will be over his dead body that Kiffin has anything to do with the University of Tennessee ever again.
I'm not sure of much, but I'll take all bets on this one.
Gruden for leading us on during two coaching searches? Or Tee for turning us down last time for a position?
If we are playing this game. Smdh

What makes you think Leach is blacklisted? It feels like the best two coaches available who also have expressed desire to be here have been blacklisted (though Leach left and re-entered the blacklist over the course of a few days).

I would expect the new AD to aim higher. Kiffin burned his own bridges. Leach? A week ago 90% would have laughed at that. Only after massive incompetence in the AD did he become attractive.
