BJ Ojulari decommits

I’d rather him waffle now than in December, or February, or after his freshman year when he isn’t seeing much playing time. Plenty of time for the staff to replace him with a player who really wants to be here. It is what it is. He might be a future NFL star, but right now he’s a waffle.

Makes the fact that we got the three from Whitehaven even more important. At least we still have help on the way at that position.

I think the timing is pretty interesting. Especially after the nuggets that were dropped in Baron and Hardy's threads last night. I think the coaches got what they feel is an upgrade. I don't know about you, but I trust our coaches. The progress and development from the beginning of the season to now is unreal

Great, things are finally looking up after the past 3 weeks, and then we lose a key commit. Double scary since Arik Gilbert is also there; does this mean we have to worry about Bailey now?
It means you have to worry about every committ until after they are signed, and then worry some more that they don’t become a bust, or get kicked off the team or transfer!!!
Every one should know that by now, but the boomers go wild every time someone commits

The fact that we got those commits may be the biggest reason he decommited. If he is scared to compete for a spot he is not the kind of person we need.

Nah, when Arik left, that was the issue. Gilbert and BJ wanted to play together. Must be hard on Bailey who was bringing them in. We keep playing the rest of the season like the last few games tho, and Pruitt and co will load up with a good roster. There is a reason we have 3 247 National recruiters of the year on our staff.

Every year, we (and almost everyone else) has commits then de-commits and then the who knows etc. I never consider a player to be on a team, until they show up for first practice. I have a special kind of TV-must be one in a million, as it allows me to watch (and record) Every SEC game, must be magic.

I hope Bailey stays with us.

I don't know why. Even when we suck, we STILL get more televised games than LSU. and the VOLS are one of those teams where if you can PLAY, you WILL play on TV.

I wouldn't equate SEC Network with actually playing on TV. Not that it should matter but we play on TV as a result of who we play rather than who we are. Do you think we'd have a televised game if we weren't in the SEC?

Yes because we would be a group of five team and all games are televised in the group of five. They all have their own networks.

Why is it that whenever we lose out on a recruit, it's because someone paid them big bucks?

Newsflash!! UT isn't the dream school for everyone out there. We lose them because they feel its a better situation for them.

Good Luck BJ!

P.S. I forgot the other excuse like one poster put it. "They are afraid of the competition if they come here". Another newsflash. LSU has a little competition in their recruits too. Don't think they're afraid of the competition if they are 4 or 5* kids.

He was on his OV to LSU, not surprising he committed to LSU.
It's why you shouldn't consider a recruit committed while they are still taking official visits to other places. This shouldn't be a surprise at all, especially after Arik Gilbert committed there. It is a big loss. Ojulari is a great prospect with an impressive highlight film, but as others have said, if we do land Tyler Baron and Jay Hardy (and I think we will), then they definitely cushion the blow... and I wouldn't worry about Harrison Bailey flipping because of this, unless of course, he schedules an official visit there.

I don’t put much stock in this buddy system generally, but if I did? He’s way tighter with Keyton than the other two Marietta guys.
