BJ Coleman (Merged)

Who knows if there's any validity to the story?

I find it hard to believe that a coach has used a curse word. What's the sport coming to? What would Vince Lombardi think? Geez. Even if it was true, no wonder he quit. It must have been so hard on his ears.

Lane Kiffin cusses?

Coach R would never cuss.

I know it would be hard to believe.

But, what if Uga peed on his best Sunday shoes just as he was going to the front door to buy girl scout cookies from his neighbor's kid? Would that be enough to convince you he lost full control of his facilities and said something totally out of character?

And just supposing, it was actually Kiffin at the door stopping by to accuse Urban of a recruiting violation and he overheard CMR and only later repeated that to BJ.

CLK is new to the League. If he knows such words, as has been alleged, he must have learned them somewhere.

Shew, I really don't know how I feel about this situation. In my eyes, Coleman was clearly the better QB (I know a few disagree) and I think he has a valid point for leaving. He knows that he only has 3 years of football left to play IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE. I mean, think about it and put yourself in his situation. You are a 20 year old sophmore in college, and by the time you get to 22 or 23, your football career is done FOREVER. You only get one chance to get to play this game. It was stupid for him to rant and show no class in that interview, but I cannot fault the guy at all for transferring...

Now, LET'S GO NICK STEPHENS!!!

Im telling ya, Chattanooga people are flipping out big time about this situation. I just moved back to the area and Chattanooga area Vol fans are having a fit over this. The rumor going around Mccallie circles is that the Coleman/Kiffin meeting got close to "physical" at some point with Kiffin saying "inappropriate" things to COleman.

Its probably just Mccallie people trying to make their guy look better, but geez....this regime change has been nothing short of abrasive.

It's better than Fulmer saying "Well, last season was tough, but we're workin like heck and watchin some film to get better"............................

I doubt that most McCallie fans are that crazy/stupid, but I've been wrong before.

Fulmer and Clawson didn't think that Coleman could play when their jobs were on the line. Kiffin doesn't think that he can play either. That's pretty much good enough for me.

I'd guess that by Wednesday the rumor will have Coleman putting Kiffin in a Figure 4 leglock and making him tap out before he triumphantly left his office.

+1

And if the fallout is that UT doesn't sign the next big recruit from Chattanooga.....

:cray:

OK. All better now.

Seriously. He's gone.

Good luck to him and UT. End of story.

Who is that, by the way? That is what's more meaningful at this point.

I didn't notice anyone on Eric's list. Am I missing someone with the late night skim?

I don't think that it's going to have a big impact with Chattanooga recruits, if any at all. I know some Chattanoogan is going to be an ass and say it will. It won't.

However, Chattanooga does produce some decent players. It's actually a nice little talent pool down there.

After listening to the interview and reading stuff from TFP, especially the Weston Wamp(went to BJ's highschool) article, this one mediocre player is being put above the program because he got his feelings hurt. Totally ridiculous.

Don't be so quick to judge. Yes, as with most town's Chattanooga's size, we were proud of BJ....and proud he had a chance to play QB for UT. But, even though I was pretty upset about this happening....I really wish BJ had not handled it the way he did. Great kid, but I think he just handled it poorly. Chalk it up to youth I guess. It's over now and life will go on for UT and BJ. But, no the dust will settle and UT followers from Chattanooga will always bleed orange. You are right about Chattanooga having a nice talent pool though and am glad Kiffin has Orgeron over the area. We have 2 starters on offense from Chattanooga Baylor in Kevin Cooper and Jacques McClendon as well. Also have J Smith committed for next year....what a great kid he is. I really wish BJ had not given up and realized he could have still been the guy this year but he didn't. I for one am ready for this to die down and for BJ to find happiness somewhere else....and for the Vols to sign their next star QB. Go Vols!

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Coleman probably went to talk to Kiffin about why he's not the starter and Kiffin told him he doubted he would ever be the starter because he didn't have the arm strength, and Coleman got p.o. and quit.

Players leave programs every year, to go somewhere else where they think they will get more playing time. I don't understand all the Kiffin criticism over this or Coleman for that matter. They are both doing what think is either best for them or the program.
