BJ Coleman (Merged)

granted Crompton didn't show much but neither did Ainge his sophmore year when he was confused as hell. Crompton had a muhc better attitude than 75% of the team behind closed doors. You have no idea how much arguing and back talk was going on in the locker room. Players arguing with each other and arguing with coaches. I was told several of the WRs went up to Clawson after the UCLA game to tell him that he was the worst play caller they had ever seen for calling plays that noone knew how to run and they refused to play for him. Several Olineman were arguing with each other on the field. So how do you blame this on Crompton or Stephens? If the QB, Oline, and WRs are one 3 different pages then there is no chance for either to succeed. Everyone looked awful to me not just Crompton. Although I think Crompton and Stephens have talent that we will see this year.

"I said, Big dog. you want someone who can play, not practice" are you kidding me?!

Did you listen to the interview? That one quote is taken out of context. He went on to say that in his view, practice is where you learn from your mistakes and you take it to the game, where you won't make the mistakes that you made in practice. He said practice should be a time where you are not comfortable and where you make mistakes so you won't make them in games.

Anyone who is trying to say that his comments about practice indicate that he thought practice isn't important either haven't heard the interview or don't want to hear the interview.

I agree that BJ didn't handle it as well as he could have but I also think that there is a lot of unnecessary piling on going on here too.

Allen Iverson part 2 minus the incredible talent.... practice we talking bout practice. Kid acts like he is Peyton Manning.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, anyone who makes such a comment about the remarks BJ made about practice haven't listened to the interview... or they already have a preconceived notion and don't want to hear it. BJ's comments bare no resemblance to AI's remarks

I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice.

Just to be clear, are you saying these remarks have no resemblance?

Listened to the whole interview.. im very biased... and was pulling for Coleman... after listening to interview I lost every bit of respect for him. He tried to preface every sentence before he bash something to make it sound like he didn't mean to trash anyone but was going to anyways. I played sports all my life and trust me practice is a big indicator of what you will do in a game 99% of the time. Granted there is the select situation that falls into the 1% but you play how you practice. I practiced for the clutch situations and it prepared me for similar game time situations. The problem with Crompton was last year they never practiced the situations that he struggled with but now they are with the new staff to iron out the issues. Coleman's comments were every bit the part of it doesn't matter what I do in practice and he also felt the need that he doesn't have to talk to his coaches during pregame. This is a huge NO NO

If you would listen to the interview, rather thasn pick and choose sentences that others have force fed to you, you'd see what I mean.

I am not saying he handled as well as he should have but I think people are taking potshots based upon what others are saying

Where did you hear the interview?

BTW, I'm not saying he handled it as well as he should have. I'm just saying a lot of folks are piling on this kid for their own gratification.

Listen to the interview. You're a Chattanooga homer.

Where else would I hear the interview? same place everyone else did. Clearly the Chatt Times is the only place you get the up to date Peyton Manning clone's news.

We don't need players like BJ. Josh Mcneil is in a dog fight with a walk on at the center position, you don't see him tucking his tail between his legs and bashing CLK and staff. The center position is just as important as QB.

Doesn't matter who I am when my information is coming straight from his HS coach. Whether everyone wants to believe that kiff hurled the F word at BJ or not its true. Then he denied the conversation later.

Just because you go to Brentwood doesn't mean you know anything.

Can you imagine a kid going to Ralph Potter and demanding a decision as to whether he would be the starting QB on Ralph's team next year? No, it wouldn't happen and Potter didn't tell BJ to go demand that CLK tell him if he was going to start. I don't believe your info is credible

If Mcneil leaves, he is out of football since he is a rising senior. A bit different situation for a sophmore

Who knows if there's any validity to the story?

I find it hard to believe that a coach has used a curse word. What's the sport coming to? What would Vince Lombardi think? Geez. Even if it was true, no wonder he quit. It must have been so hard on his ears.
