I ain't bitter for BJ Coleman transferring. Hey, you need to do what you need to do. If that path doesn't involve UT, that's totally cool. However, don't start talking s*** about the coaching staff not letting you have a chance to get the starting spot. Even if it is true.

If I were BJ Coleman--or any no 2 QB in the country last year--and I saw the way Crompton performed, I'd be pretty eager to get my shot at the job. He didn't--despite Crompton's well-documented issues and his own good scrimmage numbers--and he's pissed about it. I can't blame the guy. The thing about Crompton is this: He's a putz--delusional. He's one of these cats who thinks he's great when in fact he's terrible--the worst kind of athlete. He's like Fulmer: He can never just say the obvious: That was a bad throw and on me; or I had a bad game and take responsibility. Crompton spins every lousy throw, every lousy performance, like there was some cosmic blip that caused him to throw that ball into the ground--and everything will be fine from now on. Oh, my.

I'm skeptical of the story from Coleman's "source"--his hs coach or whomever. First, it's hard to believe that the head coach would curse at one of his players for no good reason--tell him to get the F out of his office; if true, that shows Kiffin in a very bad light and suggests a total lack of respect for Coleman. Second, Kiffin has just seen Coleman perform for ALL of spring practice--all of it. I can't imagine that he'd blow off the kid with the lame excuse: let me look at the video!! Either one of these reactions suggest a total lack of maturity by Lane and total lack of respect for one of this players--and would prompt me to quit, too. Together, they are beyond the pale--if true, but I'm skeptical that both occurred, or even one.

I think I am on BJ's side. His numbers from all the spring games were the best. Also, it did seem like he got the least opportunities during the Orange and White game. I really hate to see this happen... if anyone of these quarterbacks actually cares about vol fans it would have to be BJ since he is a Tennessee boy. I think he at least deserved to get reps with the first team.

I just can't imagine seeing Crompton start next year, he has a terrible attitude, no leadership qualities, and he is quite possibly the worst quarterback I have ever seen play in the SEC. He was terrible last year and so was Stephens. I don't care if Clawson, Fulmer, Kiffin or Britney Spears is running the offense, after seeing Crompton play last year and this year in the Orange and White game I can't imagine him being decent in the fall. With him at the helm I can't see us winning more than 6 games.

On a side note: I was really excited about Kiffin being our next coach and I was really optimistic, but my toon has been changed lately. Our program is in real trouble. We now only have two quarterback on our whole team. One senior and one junior, and they are both bad. Even if Kiffin did recruit a great QB in the 2010 class, which is a real IF, we are still set back for a long time. Even if the kid is good, he likely wont do much his freshman and sophomore years. That makes us bad for another 2-3 years. I think he made a real mistake running Coleman and Boyd off.

I am not sure how valid your information is but if it is--does Ralph P know you are on here blabbing stuff that he and BJ talk about?

My gut reaction is that your info is third and fourth hand as I doubt Ralph would be sharing such information with anyone that would brag on a online forum

People that are saying they are on BJ's side because they thought he should start this year are missing the point. The guy is a RS Sophomore. He has 3 more years in this program to earn the starting job. To piss and moan because he isn't starting at this point is ludicrous. It's not like he has shown Peyton Manning-like abilities which is the way he is acting. He quit. Simple as that.
