BJ Coleman (Merged)

throwing my two cents in.

Could it be possible that he had the same idea that Creer did? Not want to earn it cause he thought he had a free ride.

Off topic. Was Mr. Brady a walk on?

absolutely ridiculous

No it's not. Who thought Kentucky's hoops coach would be gone so soon?

In the SEC, it's all about winning and winning now. My guess is Kiffin will get a one-year grace period (losing season or 6-6 would probably be okay to most), after which he will be held to the same standard as any other head coach of a top SEC team. With the salary he and the assistant coaches are pulling in the aggregate, the program should expect to see significant improvement by year 2. My point is that Kiffin is making a risky bet that he will pull in "his" QB in this class. If he doesn't get a top QB this year, one of the requisite pieces for his rebuilding projection will be missing at least until 2011, at which point it might be a moot point.

Well this stinks. Maybe he will transfer to western carolina university. As a vol fan i am disappointed. But as a wcu alum i would be happy. j/k about western. That program makes utc look like southern cal.

I actually thought he had a shot to start. Did Kiffin tell him he had no shot or was it just his feeling?
I think it was just his feeling. Hubbs made it sound as if this was a surprise to the staff.

Here is the thing with this. If CLK dosent know about BJ quitting and BJ goes and runs his mouth to the press...Do you think that CLK will let him walk back on the field...hell no...that would be a bad example for the team and breaks chemistry..T.O. type mentality
CLK will not tolerate that crap...BJ just made his bed
Have you read anything that Coleman said? Lane apparently had a meeting with Coleman and told him his future wasn't that bright with the Vols. So, CLK knows what's going on.

g8terh8ter....Did I say anything about morales....no...never. Reread if you need to. He is just always a smart a$$ when posting. Sorry if you are into insulting the UT fanbase and UT coaches (Pearl) like he is when posters don't agree with him. But I did not AT ALL mention morale status.

"Morales". Is that the new kicker?

Well, it seems to me that the only coach on the hill that has really liked Coleman was Cutcliff. Maybe the kid just doesn't have what it takes. The bottom line is that if he was any better than Crompton he would have taken the job away this Spring. As sad as it is to say maybe Crompton really is the BEST we have :frown:

I can fully believe that Fulmer didn't give the kid a chance, but when two coaching staffs and three offensive coordinators say you aren't the best chances are you aren't. Sounds to me like Coleman needs to man up and face the fact that he may not have what it takes at the major D1 level...just my opinion.

WOW! I didn't think that could be possible.

I hope Kid Kraddik in the morning comes on in the morning and they do the Get Over it Segment. I'm calling in..."BJ Coleman..was over rated. Get Over It"

kiffin won't be fired after just 2 seasons. if he is, hamilton really screwed up on the hire

Billy Gillispie didn't think he'd be fired after 2 years either. I'm not suggesting the situation are analogous in any way, but it is entirely possible for a new coach to get run out earlier than expected based on a variety of factors (team performance/chemistry, compatibility with school, etc.). UT is no less susceptible to the ups and downs of high expectations than any other SEC school.

That's what is bothering me. Coleman said in his interview to the Chatt press that recruiting is playing a role in the QB race. If true, that is absolutely pathetic. My excitement over Kiffin just dimmed a bit.

Yes, it would be absolutely awful to lose Coleman in order to pick up Heaps next year.

All the coaches apparently are saying that they did not know that he quit...or even his teammates for that matter...per Hubbs

Billy G had exactly 0 buyout.

Who were they?

Well, all I know is what I read and hear. Brent Hubbs, I don't know anything about his credibility as I don't live around there.

i find it totalley amazeing that there are so many people on this board that puts down these player's.i would dare say that probley 96% of you never even played the game of football, but yet yet you want to bash somebody
because they aren't doing what you think they should do.

Coleman has a legitimate case. Both Crompton and Stephens completely failed in a season of opportunities.

Coleman was not picked off, had the best passing stats, and had great composure in the scrimmage. He certainly earned the top spot and was apparently never given consideration. Further, I believe Coleman was a Cutcliffe pick, and Cutcliffe knows QB's

Clk will not be fired after 2 seasons. That would be dumb and would destroy the program for years.
