BJ Coleman (Merged)

Our defense is right now getting prepared to play 80% of 60 minutes come opening day. Screw the weights, it's all cardio on the hill right now.

Kiffin also said the fact that he was playing against the second team D was no different than Crompton playing against the first team D because they had had 2nd and 1st team offenses, respectively, so it was a fair evaluation across the board. Youre the one that said where he was from was the reason people made their decisions about him which is completely false. And no I'm from Knoxville.

This is true...If you have been following this board closely with all the articles on Crompton, BJ, QB articles in general it is a FACT that the majority of the Coleman supporters are from the TN/chatt area. It has been mentions that BJ was such a great leader...the guy just QUIT...that is being selfish and worried about yourself...Since we all know that it APPEARS that JC is a practice player then all BJ had to do is wait and let JC stumble and then the nod would have been to BJ or Nick...But he didnt wait..as it has been said already...BJ went through 3 OCs and they didnt see him as a start either...

Our 2nd string defense is MUCH worse than 1st string D. The offense doesn't know who the best players are at most positions so I doubt that its very different.

Not sure I agree with that, but ok. I have the same feelings about JC, that I did after game 4 last year. He has done nothing to change my opinion yet.

I now retract my previous post... I don't really care why people were pulling for him it's not my concern. Your point about him not succeeding under 2 HC's and 3 OC's is ridiculous, are you saying that JC and NS did succeed with the opportunities they were given (which were far more in number)?

Did either of the two head coaches or 3 OC's promote him to 1st string.....don't think so.

He was playing against the 2nd string defense....Crompton would have looked like a Heisman candidate..again opinions. There have been posters here such as pennvol that said that the wanted him to play because he was from chatty and then put down NS because he was from Texas. Who gives a F where the kid is from as long as he can play and win us games...

That's not what I said. But your passionate love for fire-crotch is noted.

Hey Senior Poster.....the fact that I don't assume everyone wants to hear my opinion on a daily basis on here has nothing to do with the fact that BJ didn't belong on UT's team to begin with. He was given a shot by Cut and would have had a warm reception at UTC if he came here to begin with. UTC's program is DEAD. As dead as Elvis and Steve Irwin, it wouldn't matter if Bryce Brown ended up here. The program is a waste of resources and time. Even if Coleman came here, it wouldn't matter, UTC hasn't seen the endzone since Weiss saw his feet.

Well the coach that recruited him obviously saw something in him however he was a redshirt that year so that should certainly not be included in your incredible compilation of statistics proving how horrible of a QB he was... OTOH it would be far easier to prove how unsuccessful the other two have been if we want to view this from a numerical standpoint.

What exactly can he do...if he performs well in practice, we say he's just a practice player.

Which is why if three different OCs have put Coleman behind Crompton there is no way in hell I ever want him taking a snap.

Coach Cut had all the faith in the world in BJ....it has been said that he and Fulmer did not see eye to eye on this area. As for when Crompton falters he would get a chance? Crompton faltered all year....and BJ never got a chance. I know this is a new staff....and I am as excited as the next guy about Kiffin. But for whatever reason it was not meant to be and BJ knew this. He is a great person and has alot to offer. It just did not work out for BJ at UT.....so life goes on. BJ will play somewhere and UT will hopefully get a bigtime QB recruit this year.

Not sure Im following you?

In the offseason, there isn't much Crompton can do to impress those that don't like him. Even if he does play the best of the three in practice, we write it off and say he's just a practice player who will suck in games. He's not going to change anyone's opinion until the season actually starts, most likely.

Are you a 12 year old school girl? So you don't like NS because he has red hair.....BRILLIANT!

Fair. I shouldn't have said that, but my desire to see BJ as the QB has nothing to do with being from Chatt. I'm from south Georgia, and I now live in Pennsylvania. But I can't stand the thought of NS as our QB.

No doubt he knows the conversation he had with the staff. I was just wondering if it could have anything to do with the new guy coming in.

Either way...it's nice to have a staff that can be forthright and not blow smoke up someone's butt. But....we already knew that, didn't we? I have no attraction to any QB other than the one that the staff thinks will get the job done.

Some of you have your favorite in this QB race. That's cool. But let's be real....the coaching staff gets paid a lot of $$$$$ to make these decisions.

This isn't your daddy's football.

No worries, it will be Crompton.
