Man that is awesome. He might have three solid years as the starting QB. He can put up some great numbers for us.

i doubt it. i see kiffin recruiting a really good qb next offseason. whoever is our starter this year, won't be there for the long term. just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure how many of you were at the game, but I watched the quarterbacks pretty intently and BJ was easily the best of the day, even against second team D. He made an amazing play at the goal line keeping the ball alive and throwing a "thread the needle" into the corner of the endzone. In my opinion, which isn't much, he should be the starter.

Crompton consistently through his passes off the mark, his receivers made some amazing catches for what they were given.

Stephens just looked off the mark.

I didn't get to see the game, but I have watched the highlights now. And I understand that Coleman went against the 2's, but I think he is the best QB on the roster. His arm, mobility and head make him the best option.

I really hope he will get the attention from the coaches he deserves.

I agree that was a great play he made on the goal line. However, i think all 3 looked below average at best. a few plays before the td, bj made a couple of horrible throws. Crompton came out looking sharp to. After the 3rd series, the 2008 model came back. Stephens is still knocking the rust off.

Reading these positive posts on BJ is great. Makes me feel better about our QB situation. The fact that he still has three years to play is also great. With his attitude and intelligence he will only get better.

I can see why Coach Cut thought he would be special. After listening to his press conference how can you not like him????

Being from Chattanooga I have always been partial to BJ in hoping he makes it (even though he is McCallie and I am a Baylor alum) I love this kids attitude and have been somewhat puzzled over his being looked over. He had the most positive attitude and intelligence. He looked the best today and I really hope he gets the look he deserves. Crompton must practice well....for all the attention he gets. But my money is on BJ....today was just awesome. So much excitement.....can't wait for fall. Go Vols!!!

I think Coleman was the best QB on the field today. Crompton looked good at times, and actually looked better than last year, but he is still inconsistent. He still made some bad throws and threw the ball behind the receivers many times. Stephens still seems to be catching up from the injury. Playing with the 3rd team offense didn't really help him much. He was pressured quite a bit and didn't have a lot of open receivers. IMO, Coleman was definitely the best QB in the game.

I know what you mean....being from Chattanooga (lookout mtn) and a huge Vol fan I have never understood how BJ was never given a look by Fulmer. Now Kiffin seems to put Crompton in the lead I guess he must "practice like Heck"...BJ sounds like he is doing great and had the best day today. Very intelligent player and hope he gets the nod. I think he could be special if given a chance. Go Vols!

I definitely think Coleman played the best and was the most consistant. Crompton struggled a bit, but did pretty well on the easy throws and completed about 2 or 3 impressive downfield throws himself. I'm guessing it will be a two QB system game one.

I thought Williams and Poole were very solid and I feel very confortable with them and a hopefully healthy Hardesty.

The WRs were a highlight.

As a previous poster pointed out, the D would have won had they been allowed to blitz. Their overall speed to the ball and tackling were great, not worried at all about the early drives. I did notice however that the left DE bit every time on a play action. I can't complain about the lack of pressure from the DL, but the QBs only took 3 steps or rolled out. The backs need to step up a litte bit, but many times the receivers were totally covered and just made good plays.

Anyone else think it was finally a fun day at the game\?

Coleman was awefl last year. But then again who was even close to being good? Sounds like a two man race between BJ and JC.

How in the heck can someone be awful...that was never given a chance? Explain that. He gave life to the team against Vandy and I think that gave us the lift we needed. Even though...one mistake and Fulmer yanked him. How many mistakes did Crompton and then Nick make and they were left him for an eternity. Sorry, but BJ has never really been given the chances yet....by any stretch of the imagination.

I was at the game today. Coleman played the best, without a doubt. Unfortunately I think JC will be the starter come September, based solely on his 5* "pedigree". Regardless of what super human QB we sign in this recruiting class, I think BJ is our starter half way through this year and until he graduates. he has a supporter in me, and it seems, the rest of the Vol team....until he graduates.

Coleman was the best today and it wasn't even close. After the game, me and a couple of friends were walking to our vehicle and walking behind us was a prominent Vol WR, his mother, and his friend (who doesn't play). They were all 3 talking about how good Coleman looked and they were comparing him to Ainge about he may not throw the ball 100 yards, but he does what he needs to to get the job done. I was really excited to hear (from one their own mouths) that the WRs are behind him and have confidence in him...

Coleman did look way better than the other two, crompton should not even be mentioned anymore, he is not a gamer. More 10 yard passes in the dirt and over recievers heads

Not that I was at the game or anything, but the proclamation of BJ as the outright starter b/c of a spring game is ridiculous.

Agreed that he should not be the starter because of the "spring game". He wil be the starter because he is the best QB that happened to have the best spring game. Crompton has had his chances, BJC will surpass with continued reps leading into the fall.
