Bituli discussion

I do too. Just would like to see the Offense sustain long drives, eat time off the clock so the Defense is not logging 70%of the time on the field.

Or at least score if it's a quick possession to give the D some breathing room and hope. I felt like our D always came out fired up, then got deflated pretty fast after they realized our offense couldn't score.

Petersen, Reid, Sapp, Ignot. We finally have depth at inside lb. quality depth.

Sapp and Reid are undersized LBs for this defense, should be expected to only be OLBs imo. We haven’t seen Ignont do anything yet. I think Petersen will be a star but who knows? Bituli will be an ILB, perhaps DKJr. We’re still a good bit away from feeling good about ILB. Bodies doesn’t equal depth.

I’d argue OLBs have to be bigger than ILBs because your OLBs are DEs. And I don’t think either are undersized. Neither are husr bodies. Both are players the previous staff was very high on

I like our depth inside. You have Ignot, Sapp, Petersen, and Reid inside.

Outside has a good 3 man rotation if Allen works out with him, Smith, and Taylor. Bituli could also see time there.

Kirkland? And g ooden could be huge difference in being great defense

I think Emmett Gooden comes in and starts day one at DT. Man, it's been a long journey for that young man to make it here!

No offense, but he was a fall-back when we struck out on the blue chippers. His highlights in jc didn’t show anything special imo. He jiggles like jello and has to be at least 50 lbs. overweight. Dedication in the classroom and on the field has never been his forte. Maybe someone can motivate him..

Like I said, both are undersized to play LB in a 3-4....but I think I’d prefer my 220lb lb to speed rush off the edge and run laterally to the sideline rather than take on guards and centers head on and have to filter through all the trash in the middle of the field.

All that said, we may see more 4-3 and hybrid defenses from Pruitt based on our personnel until he can get his true 3-4 LB guys guys in here.

And with all due respect, referencing the opinion(s) of the previous staff, especially with regards to linebackers, doesn’t help ones credibility in making a valid point. No offense.

So you think he’s a 255 lb player? Looks pretty solid to me. Can you post the HUDL where you’re seeing jello?

Bitulli is a beast... easily the most punishing tackler on the team last year... Can't wait to see him without megaphone- Jones screaming in his ear.

Darrell Taylor was a pretty good tackler for us last year.

consistency is what both need to work on.

i'm anxious/excited to see how both of these guys do with the schematic switch.

A lot of comments on DKJrs reliabilty. So to remind everyone yes, the past 2 seasons staying on the field due to injury was an issue. But his freshman campaign he was out there, certainly more than 2 games and one of the few bright spots at LB that season when upperclassmen were on sidelines watching him play and garnering accolades doing it. Recall the photographic memory of this youngster, ring any bells? I think the young man comes in ready and able to turn in a better than solid performance this season.

If we sweep out all the Butch lack of coaching, I think the entire D, and especially LB's are going to rebound surprisingly...top 50ish. I believe we over schemed on D and O with Butch. Will be interesting if we simplify assignments on offensive line and D to let our guys play fast, instinct football. If we can get to that, I think we can win 6-7 games in 2018.

Butili is the one kid who looks like he belongs at linebacker...if he continues his trade in 2018 the pro scouts will be in tow..

wait and see what the coaches have to say about him come spring practice
Kid already looks as if he belongs at Bama,,he is that good..pro type good

Under schemed on offense. An ineffective bore fest
