I have wondered this. Out of all the BS media paranoia, this issue is the only one that remotely holds any water. Is there any type of animosity between Grant Williams and Jay Bilas from the AAU days? Away from games, he always goes out of his way to not mention Grant when it comes to Tennessee basketball.
Mich state deserved to be ahead of us to be honest. Very impressed they beat Mich 3 times. Conference titles were the diffence imo
It's imperfect that's for sure but imo they should have been a 1 seed. They also lost to Louisville, who the Vols beat. The two resumes aren’t comparable. No one gives Mich a chance to get to the final four. Most give Kentucky, a team Tennessee beat twice, a good chance.
I listened to a fairly lengthy interview with Bilas before the SEC tourney and he went out of his way to say how classy Grant was and what a great leader he was. He has nothing but respect for Grant. There is no animosity. He believes Grant is one of the best players in the country. Is there any type of animosity between Grant Williams and Jay Bilas from the AAU days? It's never a blessing in disguise when you lose a championship. Especially when you haven't won the SEC tournament in 40 years. I'm tired of people thinking that losing is somehow is virtuous and great. I totally disagree. And just because we get an easier bracket doesn't mean we will take advantage of that either.Who cares just win. Our loss was a blessing in disguise. Getting the #1 seed out west and having to play the Zags in the E8 would have been terrible. Also I’d much rather have our matchups than UK. Wofford and Houston would have been tough to get past.
