We don't know exactly what happened but I'm sure some will be in denial if we offered the job to other coaches and they said no. But let's be honest......that's possible.

You really don't have to be a brain surgeon or a conspiracy loon to figure out the common denominator in the failure over the last decade. Many coaches and ADs have come and gone, but only one name has remained the same. When are people going to wake up?

I mean, if we're going to go to the state of Ohio, and pull up some fossil that hasn't been a head coach at the college game since early this decade, why not just go with Jim Tressel?

Because Haslam vetted shiano three years ago as a possible HC for the browns. He was reportedly enamored with the guy. The article has been passed around.

He's not. He's always been Currie's first and top choice. There are much better options but Currie was dead set on Schiano for some damn reason.

I think that he was the top target the entire time personally. Currie played haslams card and screwed the pooch, now he's in real trouble.

Here’s the the thing that gets me. Currie, Haslam and all the others that had any input to this decision knew what coaches were out there to go get. A full compliment of rock stars and experienced coaches alike. And that brain trust over there on The Hill pulled Schiano out of their @$$ like they thought they were David Copperfield doing a magic show and wanted to act like they pulled the biggest coup versus all of our rivals! Sad thing is, they had no clue how stupid that was going to look from a coaching standpoint alone, much less the Penn State/Sandusky connection. No, this isn’t the best we could get! This is stupid doing what stupid has done over there for ten years now.

Just because they have $$ and are in positions of power doesn't mean they know what they are doing. This is obvious!!

Everything points to Haslam being ran out of town. Who has the stones to start the movement. If 100 people showed up today it would go viral and he'd be gone by the end of the week!

The program was clearly known as an "underachiever" during Fulmer's last years. Every coach in the country knew he put it on cruise after 1998.
