Bigger disappointment Rogers or Banks @ WR ?

Rogers. IIRC, Banks was actually a QB but was athletic.

Both were given multiple chances but neither cared enough. Banks testing the cops with a car radio and Rogers with the left handed cigarette. Never will forget that basket catch Rogers dropped against USCe!

Banks had 700 yards and 7 TDs. Rogers had 1300 yards and 11 TDs.

Can't say for sure but seems like he led the SEC in receiving his Soph year

Banks.
Darick actually had a bigtime season. And spent some time in the NFL.

James Banks was more talented than him, and ended his career at Carson-Newman i believe
...
Yep my wife had his ID confiscated because he was letting others use it for lunch since he was on scholy and had an unlimited meal plan...in his one season at TN he did catch 42 balls for 600 yards and 6 TDs...talent was never the issue with him. Da'Rick Rogers or James Banks the biggest disappointment in recent memory at WR ?
Good question, both were 5 star's with a lot of hype.

I'm going to go with Rodgers. At least Banks played a couple seasons and had some good games and memorable plays. He also had a tougher road starting at QB and changing to WR, so he gets a little leeway from me.

Da’Rick was a freak. He’s one of the most talented receivers we’ve ever had and the best one I’d say we’ve had since Meachem. However, he didn’t have it between the ears no doubt.

I gotta go with Patterson as the most talented. He was like Percy Harvin with the ball in his hands. Never seen a guy so elusive. Didn't have much of a route tree, but pure athletic ability was unmatched.

I could make that argument for Justin Hunter. I thought he was the best until that knee injury .

None of them compares to Carl Pickens. That dude had the tools, 'tude and meanness as a WR. He even lined up as a DB in the Cotton Bowl in '89. I believe he was defensive MVP while the best RB in UT history (Chuck Webb) was offensive MVP. Good Lord that team had talent...

Until watching this vid, I didn't realize just how stout/built/thick that dude was!

Hearing him talk/speak in it he did not sound at all as I thought he would seeing the trouble he had.

If only he had people around him to help him not do drugs, that dude would have been a millionaire for sure!

If we're talking about recent WR busts, then Jordan Murphy has to be in the conversation. Blue chip recruit, also recruited by Bama and Ole Miss. Had a terrible attitude, lousy work ethic, and basically did very little while he was here. Eventually left the team after the Georgia State loss. Not picked up by anyone else since then.

As for Banks, what happened with him? He had a great Sophomore season. I know he got dismissed from the team, but was it just for smoking pot? I don't know that you could call him a "disappointment" at WR; he was actually quite good at it. Just got booted from the team.
