Big O Breaks Silence..

It’s especially tough if the only answer you have for perspective players is that the previous players were all lazy greedy selfish cancers. Not sure that explanation goes over well with players.
You keep saying this (like every day for the last month or two) but literally who is saying that every player leaving is a lazy greedy selfish cancer? My goodness.

I've never said any of them were bad people, but I have said they couldn't shoot the ball or play defense effectively. The stats totally bare that out. We shot 40 percent from the field and 67 from the line 30 from the three. Try to win like that in the SEC it is not easy. Kim gets plenty of blame for putting a team like this together. Her subbing and her anybody can shoot anywhere on the court. This all contributed to the bad stats.

Knox fan run radio now saying “she’s saying all the right things but not certain she makes it to campus”

Don’t listen to this if you are a Kim supporter. She’s getting ripped to shreds in Knox media today. EEEK

I watched the fourth quarter. How about giving me the cliff notes on the first 3?
She got stripped on a rebound or two, missed a couple of middies in the paint, missed a three early. Definitely held her own in the paint rebounding and defensively. She also created gravity for the other players on the floor. I couldn’t make it past the end of the first quarter. Like others have said, all star basketball is a tough watch.

How would you all feel if Big O was released and decided not to come?
I think they should and would release her if she no longer wants to be here.

Especially because I’m pretty sure the new theme is going to be we only want those who want to be here. In fact, I’ve already made it my new drinking game.

Do you read post at all? It’s been said multiple times just today. All of them plus Gabe quickly get lumped into the don’t let the door hit you quitter pile. Plus they were never any good anyway in spite of their ranking and they’re very easily replaceable. I mean, I can quote 100 or so posts but it really doesn’t seem necessary.

I can name five posters off the top of my head that have used the word cancer to refer to one or multiple players. All it takes is a key word search for this forum, and you can find plenty of examples.

been in the works for at least 2 weeks... This isn't a new development.
Came in late and have missed a lot of posts -

That said, imo, if Big O wants out, she should be given a full release by Tennessee, including freedom to go to another SEC school, if the SEC will allow. Whatever she signed up for in November , it is NOT what is here now in March (April).

It seems like the only decent thing to do. I fail to see how coming, at this time and in this situation, could be beneficial to her any way. She has a bright future, love Tennessee and the Lady Vols or not, but we don‘t need to negatively impact a kid’s future. Again, imo, I fail to see how coming here could be anything but a negative 😞.

I can’t believe I typed that…….but it is what it is, and it is not good. No need to pull her down too.
Excuse me while I go arrange some decks chairs

I agree 100%!

What do they have to readjust?

No other school runs this system.

They have to adjust to playing more consecutive minutes, run planned plays, execute the press like other teams do, play zone defense, work the ball inside for shots, etc.

The system is a different style of playing and requires players to have different tendencies than they probably played before. So they have to revert back to how they probably played before.

Probably hard to type that. I agree - things were very different in November than they are today.

None of that is true. The only thing that we do that other teams don’t do is press constantly while playing a run and gun style. Our offense is similar to teams in college basketball and pro basketball(men and women) It is a dribble drive motion 5 out offense. I ran a similar offense when I coached AAU. These players have played their whole life. It won’t be a big adjustment.

I've seen plenty of posts questioning their talent/abilities but none claiming they were all lazy cancers.

You are either with us or against us. I don’t care anything about Gabe Lazo. I have no idea if he is a good assistant coach or not. None of us do.

Then tell me why CKC says it takes lots of time for players to learn the system - because that is the excuse that has been given - it takes time for players to learn this so we are going to lose and look ugly while they learn. That is what CKC has said. If they have played it all their life, what can't they just pick it up and go with it easily?

The system is not like what Arkansas run - it is not like the other face paced offenses you mention.
