CKC also said the losses in the pre-conference were going to teach them lessons, unlike the year before, that would better prepare them for the conference and tournament portions of the season. Then tell me why CKC says it takes lots of time for players to learn the system - because that is the excuse that has been given - it takes time for players to learn this so we are going to lose and look ugly while they learn. That is what CKC has said. If they have played it all their life, what can't they just pick it up and go with it easily?
The system is not like what Arkansas run - it is not like the other face paced offenses you mention.
Kim is talking about playing fast and hard all the time. You can’t take a second off or the other team will be scoring on you. Arkansas runs the same offense as we do. They just don’t run it at a hectic pace. Then tell me why CKC says it takes lots of time for players to learn the system - because that is the excuse that has been given - it takes time for players to learn this so we are going to lose and look ugly while they learn. The big thing we do that no one else does is the crazy ass subbing.None of that is true. The only thing that we do that other teams don’t do is press constantly while playing a run and gun style. Our offense is similar to teams in college basketball and pro basketball(men and women) It is a dribble drive motion 5 out offense. I ran a similar offense when I coached AAU. These players have played their whole life. It won’t be a big adjustment.

Also I don’t think others commit to as much hard trapping like Kim does
You have eyes , did you see improvemwnt from Zee her JR year? Did Cooper improve her first year? You obviously just read what you wanted to criticize about my post. Here's the most important line. Without COMMITTMENT you have NO DEVELOPMENT . That goes for coaches and players. What a clean and simple world.
Every hint of development is to Kim’s credit.
Every regression is the players fault.
The saddest thing is we have to pray you’re right because the players are gone and we’re stuck with her.
Zee went from a nobody to a 1st round draft pick after her JR year. Unfortunately she didn't put any effort into her SR and is probably back to nobidy status. Ruby excelled under Kim also, she just couldn't stay out if trouble. Cooper went from a little used freshman to All-Conference players under Kim. So this nonsense she cant develop players is just that nonsense. The player has to want to develop and work at their craft 365 days a year. Without commitment there is no development for any player.

I agree with most of what you posted but not everything. It still doesn’t require an adjustment to play a different style. There is more to it than that. Here are other tenants of the system:
The goal is to get significantly more shots than the opponent by forcing more turnovers and getting more offensive rebounds. It relies on a team getting a lot more shots than the opponent.
- The first possible shot is the best possible shot, where three point shot attempts are preferred over shorter shots.
- Shoot as many three-pointers as possible.
- In terms of defense, giving up an uncontested layup is better than a shot clock violation.
- Always double team the person with the ball.
- Every player but the shooter goes for the offensive rebound.
- Offensive rebounds should be sent back for another three-point attempt, not a shorter putback for two points.
If you watched closely, when they were running the system, the above was always happening. At the start of the season you could see they always took the three-point shots and shot quickly.
The fast pace and subbing is more about wearing the other team down than it is about actually having the press get easy layups.
CKC was schooled by the better teams - it was the LV's that were worn down, not the other team.
Kim has said several times in order to learn her system players have to forget everything they knew before about basketball because it’s that different. She’s also said first it takes till Thanksgiving for her teams to click in the system now she’s saying until Christmas. That’s a ton of unlearning and relearning.I agree with most of what you posted but not everything. It still doesn’t require an adjustment to play a different style.
They don’t literally forget how to play basketball the way they have their whole life.Kim has said several times in order to learn her system players have to forget everything they knew before about basketball because it’s that different. So doesn’t that seem like a system thats so different and so specialized that there would be an adjustment for players transitioning out of it back to a more normal system?
Also, she told us the physical training for her system is very specialized. I’m not sure they’ve ever quite got a handle on that, but still it’s different so physically that’s also an adjustment.
Not sure how you forget everything you know to relearn one way and then need no retraining when you leave
#6 is just crazy. Give up a high percentage shot for a lower percentage 3 shot attempt by a subpar 3 point shooter? My head hurts. It’s really crazy when you lose by a few points. If I’m a BIG looking for development…why in the world would I want to play in this system? I become a ball girl for shooters and I shoot 3s that I have no interest in taking! There is more to it than that. Here are other tenants of the system:

Tell Kim. Her words. They don’t literally forget how to play basketball the way they have their whole life.
I am not a huge fan of the system but it would help if you brought back the majority of your team instead of replacing them every year.Tell Kim. Her words.
Also, which system makes more sense? A a system so complex it takes a third of the season to properly learn and implement or a season so intuitive that players need no adjustment.?
My main complaint about Kim’s system has always been that it’s so needlessly hard and complicated. Everything that should be easy is made difficult.
Did you mass sub every 1-3 minutes also? Including your best players? Or is that a trivial thingy?None of that is true. What better way to convince someone of the right college to attend than by displaying such mastery of the English language as, "Tennessee done did you dirty ...."Big O had to delete her post from earlier because of the hundreds of comments from people telling her how Tennessee is a dumpster fire right now. I’m going to give my good friend a wide berth here. It seems to me his humor is quite often lost on many in this forum, it’s often of an intellectual nature and almost always of amazingly good wit for anyone who notices and can appreciate. But just this once I am making it known that @1reVOLver missed the mark, albeit only slightly. Cracker Jax? My good man!Mebbe, mebbe not. I'd wager the toy from the bottom of a Cracker Jack box
that it’s Kim's pet chipmunk using a voice to text thingy.

Last year the press led to a program record number of 10-second violations. Didn't see much of that this year.I don't view what they were doing as hard trapping. Compare what the ladies were doing to what the men on Barnes's team does when they are pressing and trapping. The men do hard press.
Edited to add - the purpose of the double team in the system appears to be attempt to get a quick turnover or give up the layup so you get the ball back quicker. Keep in mind the system is based on getting lots of shots - so the faster you get the ball back the better - even if you give up 2 points because you are always shooting 3s
Our fan base can be really disgusting.Big O had to delete her post from earlier because of the hundreds of comments from people telling her how Tennessee is a dumpster fire right now. WILD
