I think if we could all be honest and take our orange colored glasses off for just 1 second, we could all recognize what a waste of potential it would be for Edwards to come here. As someone who appreciates the game, why would you want someone or her talent to come into a situation like this?

Edwards may be renegotiating her deal with Adidas. If she can find a new home that we would sign off on and Adidas would deem big enough not to ax their NIL deal with her, I think she's gone in a heartbeat. But that's a lot to work out in little time.

They were trying to force his hand (by essentially having the entire team threaten to leave). He probably figured they were bluffing. We see now, that they were not.

Not mad at all, quite the opposite. Just wanting what’s best for them. I wasn’t aware that you are in charge of telling the players how they should feel about this. I’m glad you know what they are feeling more than they do!

How to feel? I don’t personally care about none of this. I’m not seeking to tell anybody how to feel. I can’t even see how you comprehend that from the statement I made. It was me stating my opinion that I believe they will regret the decision. I will never attempt to watch closely or follow their career elsewhere one way or the other to find out.

On the other hand, there is limited evidence that Kim CAN develop players or that her system DOESN'T hinder players' talents. Or, for that matter, that she can get a team of 10 or more talented players to buy in to her crazy system. Only time will tell for certain. Meanwhile all we have is our opinions.

Zee went from a nobody to a 1st round draft pick after her JR year. Unfortunately she didn't put any effort into her SR and is probably back to nobidy status. Ruby excelled under Kim also, she just couldn't stay out if trouble. Cooper went from a little used freshman to All-Conference players under Kim. So this nonsense she cant develop players is just that nonsense. The player has to want to develop and work at their craft 365 days a year. Without commitment there is no development for any player.

These are good players - other teams wanted them. It is going to take time for them to readjust to how they played basketball before this year, but when they do, I expect some of them will shine on other teams.

You do realize that any player that may consider coming to Tennessee is going to want to understand why all these players are leaving. Seeing players bail on a team sends a clear message to everyone that this may not be the place to be.

It is the same in life, when employees start bailing on their employer in masses, no one, absolutely no one, will touch those positions.

It is perplexing to me how some fan’s loyalty only extends to the coach. They’ll call our own players every name in the book while they are a Lady Vol: cancers, prima donnas, quitters, etc. They’ll diss their skills, their motivations, and their attitudes. However, when it comes to the coach, they will make every excuse in the world for them and bend themselves into pretzels with their logic. I don’t understand why the grace they have for adults making big money is never extended to 18-22 year olds. I’ve seen this so many times with different coaches and different sports.

They won’t care. I keep telling you all that college athletes don’t think like fans on this forum. Michigan is in the Final Four on the men’s side with just 3 players from last season on their roster.
It’s chess not checkers.
I know players and people that play(ed) college sports in the SEC, NFL players in Kansas City & Philadelphia, sports agents. Heck, there’s a 8th grader where I’m from that has about 20 D1 offers to play a college sport and I know this family as well.
Tennessee still today with this many players in the portal can recruit 90-95% of the portal based on the brand.
When the portal opens Tennessee could sign 4 to 5 players the first week if they wanted to based on NIL alone.
And the new recruiting coordinators Coach Ferrera and Coach Tubner (if he stays) have the options and contacts to do that in one day.

What a soft hearted wimp head I am. I convinced myself Gabe visited her for the purpose of squaring everything away with her about his departure. Which I feel sure he knew about at the time since there’s obviously been friction between him and Kim all season.

But NO! Went up there and didn’t mention it? No wonder these kids feel loyalty to no one. I feel so bad for a Big Os situation.

Hey, it very well could be he made that special trip to say “I care about you and would love for you to follow me to LSU” without coming right out and saying it.

My thought is he likely already knew he was gone and possibly had talks lined up with LSU and others, but if he went down there and said, “I’m leaving,” then it’s possible someone could twist it into suggesting he was tampering.

If he’d told her he was gone then he’d have gotten grilled about where to. He was safer just not saying anything, IMO. Him going to see her should have spoken volumes if her family thinks about it.
