Guys, get a grip. Joey Kent is the easy winner. Check the career stats--he's the man: Most receiving yards, most touchdowns--he far eclipses Pickens. I loved Pickens (and Price), but his numbers are not close to Kent's. This isn't /who was a better pro/; this is production while at UT--and nobody topped Kent. Who can forget his 70-plus yard TD reception from Manning to open the bama game at Bama--I forget the year, but didn't it end a long losing streak to the tide? That play was electric. Kent was a GREAT college receiver.
Random, but something a Gator would appreciate. I heard a Neal Anderson shoutout on Nashville sports radio the other day. Completely forgot about him, but that dude could run the rock.
Yeah he could....great guy and a great Gator.
As for the topic at hand, can you imagine the numbers Willie Gault would have had playing for UT in the mid 90s with Cutcliffe and Maning? Ditto for Pickens....
So bart starr is better than brett favre? carl scored 13 career tds. Meachem scored nearly that many his junior season. Carl pickens had 1875 career yds. Meachem had almost 1300 his junior yr. pickens caught 109 passes meachem caught 71 his junior yr. I cant find film of every pickens catch but i do have the majority of ths tds and the quality doesnt approach what meachem did

I agree, it's just so hard to answer this question. Some WR's had better QB's, and some played on mostly running teams. I mean, to turn it to UF, imagine some of the WR/TE's you guys had that played under Tebow. Imagine if they played under Spurrier and Wuerrfel. (Not a knock on Tebow by any means, but you see where I'm going with it.)
idk. Maybe pickens was better. I just cant shake the images of meachem destroying the cal corners or catching that well underthrown crompton deep ball between to lsu dbs for six. Or seeing martin load up and throw a deep ball and watching the camera pan and seeing peerless behind the defender in the biggest of moments.
