I have a feeling that if we look up who won it all in 52, 53 and 57 . . .The 60's were half a decade in the SB era, so I ruled it out of the poll.
"Most historians"?
It's hard to believe the best decade for the NFL was a decade where it ranked behind baseball, boxing, and CFB in terms of popularity.
Mel Blount agrees. Jack Splat would also like to add this. The start of rules starting to ruin the game was after the 1977 season when the rules were changed that cornerbacks could only maintain contact with wide receivers within five yards of the line of scrimmage.
