Bernie Sanders Thread

He is being taught the liberal utopia.. Do meaningful work at a nonprofit and believe the fgovermenr is the source of your every need. And hate capitalism or the capitalist class which is the model that that made this country great.

I hate the state and capitalism. But in the system we live in, I think that providing benefits via the state to the masses is the best short-term way to improve our quality of life.

Its kind of funny, but I don't know if we have enough of a workers identity left for people to freak out over automation stealing jobs, as Asimov predicted.

Iwhat you are describing has been a miserable failure in human history..Look at Cuba and the central government planning and controlling your all aspects of your life.

Ultimately what I want is a a self-managed, classless, stateless society where everyone takes collective responsibility for the health and prosperity of their community.

Look at the communities in which everthing is provides in your model.. High taxes, businesses leaving due to high taxes, no jobes , high welfare and crime and no hope.. See Detroit, Baltimore

He's already addressed this. It will not be big news. I'd imagine that the conservative circlejerk that is Volnation wouldn't know that though, as they prefer to be spoonfed by Fox rather than doing their own research and getting news from a variety of sources. Further, there are very few problems with what he wrote, beyond that he implied that men and women have certain fantasies. That is obviously untrue, but in reality he was just trying to illustrate a point, that point being that we ought to liberate people from harmful gender norms. His method was crude, but the message is quite clear and is something that only a misogynist would disagree with.

Oh boy, another liberal hack wannabe anarchist. You have a mighty big opine of VN yet haven't been on the political forum long enough to know you weren't the only "anarchist". I'm betting you are as much of an anarchist as most white college age Marley wannabes are Rastas.

As far as I know, we agree on every social issue. We also agree on increasing the minimum wage, free university education, taxing the hell out of the rich, climate change, breaking up the banks, opposition to recent trade agreements, going further with healthcare than Obamacare, etc.

Yeah, I'd say you are more straight up socialist.

There is something wrong with you....

I'll pick the easy one: taxing the hell out of the rich??

Hey buddy, what happens when the rich leave?

The only problem with all of this is.......people. Collective responsibility huh, too bad that the majority of people are inept, lazy, and don't give a s***.

Your idealism only works when the people are all on the same page, and there is no way that is even close to happening, let alone possible.

Essentially, he saw this crap on Star Trek and thinks that it is possible. The global society of the future is much like his utopia. Only problem is they have "free" food replicators and an endless energy source..... Those little bothersome problems have been solved.

Mr Sanders drew 700 people to a campaign event last week in Davenport, Iowa, the single largest political event in Iowa for any candidate this year. Martin O’Malley, the former Maryland governor who was supposed to be a more direct challenger of Mrs Clinton, held a rally in Davenport Saturday that drew only 50 people, the New York Times reported.

The growing crowds showing up for Mr Sanders have not gone unnoticed by the Democratic political establishment in Iowa. After the event in Kensett on Saturday, the county chairman for the Democratic Party texted the Iowa political director for Mrs Clinton’s campaign, who immediately called back.

“Objects in your rearview mirror are closer than they appears,” Kurt Meyer told the Times he said to the Mrs Clinton’s political director. “Mrs Clinton had better get out here.”

Ron Paul would draw huge crowds as well, odd how that didn't translate into winning the nomination.

Be careful what you wish for Hog. Do not over estimate the intelligence of the American vote, take note of last 4 POTUS elections.

Oh, don't worry I'm not. I'm looking for the comedy factor.
