Bernie Sanders Thread

It's real easy to ask other people to pay more taxes...The defination of wealthly keeps getting lower and lower. Dems cry always about fairness except for money.. They always want more... And they have voters lined up to take it

The American economy works best this way. I understand how easy it is to say we just want to take, take, take and give nothing - but that's not the case at all.

By not providing an example, you're not helping your case.

Can you name one time in history where a populace was taxed into prosperity?

"Into prosperity" isn't the aim, I don't think. BUT, I think more people make more money when a crazy amount of money isn't sitting in banks on the Cayman Islands. Redistribution of wealth isn't necessarily the goal - more like recirculation.

There is no correlation between raising taxes and the velocity of money. None.

How does it benefit the taxpayer when they have less money after being taxed in income, investments etc?

A bull$hit article about a bull$hit poll as published by Al Jazeera...how apropos. "Most" Americans support raising the taxes on someone else? No kidding. They have been divided in every conceivable way and convinced anyone with $5 more must have not paid their "fair share". I will remind you, Obama already got his tax increases. Show me someone who is somehow not paying the right amount. Who and how?

So you are just going to steal it then and put it back into circulation?

So does wanting EVERYONE to pay the same percentage equal raising taxes on the " 47%"?

I know you've got your hopes up for Bernie, Kingston. I seriously believe him to be a long-shot as far as winning the general election. He will appeal to the very far left of the dem party especially during the primaries though.

I really don't think he wins or has much of a shot - I just like him more than Hillary. As I've said before, I'll hope for a miracle, but assume when we hit the voting booths in November 2016 that it'll be Bush vs. Clinton.

Stealing is a "propaganda-ish" word, isn't it?

But no, it's pretty simple.

The raise in taxes would pay, in this scenario, for Bernie's 5 million new infrastructure jobs - something both left and right would agree needs major repair. Giving 5 million new people good paying jobs would allow them to buy more goods - thus the middle class and the economy would be stronger.

You also give people who are more likely to spend more buying power by increasing the EIC.

A new poll out of New Hampshire has Hillary with only a 12% lead. 44-32 with Bernie gaining ground. Biden has 8% currently.
