Wrong. You must have missed the first half of the last several games. Im not talking about using them 10 minutes a half or at the end of the game but you have to give your starters a little bit of rest here and there.Every time we use our bench, we give away points and momentum. I will take my chances with the starters near the end of the game.
You realize they gave away the auburn and UF leads with the starters? Apparently you don’t.Every time we use our bench, we give away points and momentum. I will take my chances with the starters near the end of the game.
Different issues in auburn game. Subs played. 24 TOs was the biggest issue and fulky had a bad game. You realize they gave away the auburn and UF leads with the starters? Apparently you don’t.
Gaines and Johnson player 4 minutes each.

most of all that was in the first half. And it’s the back ups that give away leads??? Man, you guys really don’t get it.
And let’s not forget that this 100% Barnes roster. We are 29 games in and he doesn’t have his back ups ready to contribute.
Let’s be real, this team’s issue is fatigue. They likely beat Auburn with fresher legs.
I think the fatigue caught up to them @AU and @Arky. That said, he doesn't have a lot of good options on the bench, right now. He pretty much has to ride or die with the starters if he can afford to.Not using our bench in the second half of games is killing us. Barnes is wearing his own players out. Fulkerson is gassed and missing free throws.

Take one of those guys out and replace them with ON, Plavsic, or Pember, and then we get to hear all about why Barnes would insert those guys into the game when the starters were building such a lead. Gaines, and to an extent, Johnson, are the only guys off the bench worth a darn, right now. Not sure why Gaines played so little, today.
Agree about Pearl game planning to wear our starters out. This is a very worthwhile conversation. All season, I have been worried about our lack of depth. Barnes seems scared to use the bench, outside of very small minutes (like today). Say what you will about Bruce Pearl but he's a good basketball coach and he knows how to use his bench. When he was our coach, he routinely had a rotation of 8 and even 9 guys. They went in and did their jobs. They produced off the bench...points, rebounds, and good defense.
If I'm Pearl gameplanning for us now, I'm licking my chops: run us to death and wear us down.
As I see it, it is Barnes's job to develop his bench...yesterday. We will never go far post-season without a solid bench playing meaningful minutes.
I don't think it is Barnes' ideal gameplan to run our starters to death. He just realizes there is a significant talent gap and/or experience and readiness gap between the starters and the majority of th bench. He had typically played 8-9 guys with regularity. This is a very worthwhile conversation. All season, I have been worried about our lack of depth.
