Behind-closed-doors battles pending at UT

I'm not a big fan of cheating to win. I know a lot of folks will argue that "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'"

That's a legitimate argument, but I have a problem personally with cheating to win.

You can define cheating many different ways -- I know that. But, if you're knowingly doing things that are breaking rules I think it's wrong.

Everyone knows the "forgiveness vs. permission" argument. That seems to be the case in this situation to me.

That being said, I don't dislike the staff. I just wish we would try to do things by the book.

breaking the rules is not the same as doing things that aren't yet in the rulebook.

Finding loopholes is not cheating.

And also, if we have the chance to get a "Cadillac" type recruit...what would it hurt to get a minor secondary violation if you can get the kid on campus?

I can't believe some folks are openly advocating we do whatever it takes to get recruits. My guess is they realize that Kiffin won't be able to succeed otherwise......and they're probably right. However, doesn't that put us on par with the bammers? Haven't we learned anything from watching UAT the past decade?

We have to hold these coaches accountable. Long after they're gone we'll still be here, either reaping the benefits or suffering for their stupidity.

A self reported secondary violation is the equivalent of a wrist slap...

I think the people we should hold accountable are the mindless Fulmerites who defended the now deposed oaf who produced two losing seasons in the last four.

Can you not read? This is what I said:

"I can't believe some folks are openly advocating we do whatever it takes to get recruits."

what I read was you comparing our current staff to the bammers who openly paid for a player. It's a non-story you are using to once again take a shot at this staff.

I don't think people really understand how insignificant self-reported secondary violations are.

Whatever it takes = Bama

Which in turn = Probation

We are not in that boat, secondary violation (if it is one at all).

I can't believe your head is still so far up PF's rear end that we can't tell where you end and he begins...

Awesome. Let's bring up PF to justify our recruiting tactics.

If your head wasn't so far up Lane's @ss you might agree that running a clean program is probably the right thing to do.
