IMO the best way to try stuff like this -- mainstream-ish beers that you're curious about but don't necessarily want to commit to a whole six-pack of -- is to cultivate a good relationship with a bartender. A lot of times they'll let you try some without actually having to buy it. I'm somewhat curious too, though not enough to pay for it. Hard to imagine an ale made by A-B.
Almost at the end of the keg tonight, and I want to save a few pints for football day tomorrow, so I'm drinking a few bottles of the Loose Cannon "Hop3" IPA. I know I've mentioned it here before, but if anyone out there likes hops, it's highly, highly recommended.
