Genius seems a bit much. Pruitt has been described by many other coaches and players as a Defensive Guru but I want to be careful before we put him in the same pantheon as Belichick. When he was hired, there was little question that he was one of the top 5 (mayyyyyybe top 3) DCs in the country. Is that a football genius? maybe.

What does seem clear is that whether Pruitt is a personal football genius or not, he is hellbent on establishing an elite program here at UT that will do all the genius level work to chase championships. I think his goal is to be Saban 2.0 rather than a Rich Rod kind of guy.
I agree. I have a feeling that with the right support he will get it done and make his own name. Fulmer did good, I believe we will all see that in the long run, because I think Fulmer knows he did good and will not fire him even if their are more learning curves. Which there will be, let’s just hope they don’t cost us too much.

I checked. He's the best D coach in the entire galaxy. Squared.
Just what he’s done this far in his career without even being a HC. Also, there are plenty of signs. I hope I’m not wrong, but will be the first to admit if it all goes to he**.
