Beasley animal cruelty charge dismissed...

Beasley is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. Public opinion is not a court of law. People are free to draw their own conclusions from the reported information. You are free to say no asterisk, and I'm not telling you what to do, but I am at liberty to say innocent with an asterisk.
I interpreted your comment as characterizing my prior comments as saying there was an *. I wasn't saying there was an *, and was trying to explain why. I now see that you were in fact saying there is an *, so I misunderstood you. Yes, you are certainly free to believe that. I was always talking from a legal perspective. God knows the true facts, whatever they may be. That's why I'm more concerned with being dang sure we don't send innocent people to prison than being sure every guilty person is caught. Err on the side of letting the innocent man walk. The good Lord will sort the true facts out in the latter day. "Vengeance is mine, I will repay."

I hope there's more than just dropping charges for him to be reinstated. Just because there's not enough to prosecute doesn't mean there was no incident. I think a little volunteer time at the animal shelter/hospital, whichever is most convenient, would be a good way of showing the coaches and teammates that he's willing and deserving of reinstatement. I'm all for second chances but they are not a right. They should be earned and not taken lightly (see Kaiden Salter). I do wish him the best of luck.

Probably girlfriends' friends worked it out between them, somebody paid the vet bill and since the kitten was alright the prosecution found themselves without cooperative witnesses. Good for Beasley that this doesn't go on his record though and hope he learns something from the whole thing. The posters who defend animal abuse like it's not a big deal still disgust me, you know who you are.
It is not a good thing. Cruelty to any living thing is not good. Those who are way out of balance in terms of valuing human life vs animal life disgust me... you know who you are.

FTR, I still don't know if he has the talent to ever contribute. This was never about the team's need for me. It was about being proportioned and balanced when viewing things like this... and the assumption of innocence. Some didn't learn anything from the AJ case.

Still wish they would have kicked him off the team.He won't play much hopefully.
So, you really don't know what happened (no one here does), he was not tried or convicted of any crime and you want him permanently kicked off the team and if and when he is reinstated, you wish him to not play...

That's just brilliant..... 🙄

No, I was just saying generally prosecutors don't exonerate people, regardless of what their unproven suspicions may or may not be. I despise animal cruelty, however the State dropped it's case, I consider Beasley innocent.

Gotcha' and I agree.

I also object to animal abuse, but one account described this as a known problem with this cat. In other words, it sounded like something that the owner allowed to happen on a regular basis.
I was not there. I don't know the facts. My guess is that he reacted badly to the situation.
But how many times are you going to let the same cat land in the middle of your meal before you "react badly"?

Try this experiment. Take your pet cat/rat/iguana (no real difference) to your local Waffle House. Walk over to someone else's table, and set your pet down in the middle of someone's dinner. What's going to happen next?

Why? Just on the supposition that he did something? I hope no one ever accuses you of some horrible crime. By your standards you should immediately be fired from your job or kicked out of school immediately with no due process. With the charges dropped there was not enough evidence to even go to trial.

I'm glad that PETA won't be at our games. Actually, I bet they already hate us because we have a living mascot.
