Exciting!!
Buchanan described Pruitt's approach as "an in-your-face type of defense."

"I love that style," Buchanan said. "I like pressing. I feel like it makes me a better corner, more physical, and I think that goes for everybody in the secondary."

Junior Baylen Buchanan is a leader at cornerback for Vols

Not as exciting.
Now he technically is Tennessee's most experienced cornerback as one of only two returners who have started a game at the position. The other is sophomore Shawn Shamburger, who emerged during Buchanan's absence a year ago.

Swain on record saying as of now our starting CBs are Buchanan and Taylor....look for Shamburger playing a lot of nickel. Warrior and Abernathy at safety with true freshman Flowers turning heads there....Austin Price called Flowers a turnover machine (in a good way) as he has outstanding ball skills and has interceptions in each of the full scrimmages.

I love that Fair is a VFL but I wish Pruitt has retained Warren. I don't think Fair has the experience.
This group will need more coaching than any other as the talent level just isn't there.

I hate to even say this... but Fair is an apprentice and so is Sherrer to a degree. Pruitt spends a lot of time with the DB's and has already announced he will do the defensive play calling.

Last year, Baylen's nickname was burnt toast.

Hope it was the coaching and not the player.

I remember when Terry Fair played and he said in an interview "one on one, nobody can beat me". That's the kind of attitude he brings.
In the year that Peyton and Woodson were vying for the Heisman, Terry Fair actually had a better statistical year than Woodson did as a defensive back. He was a phenomenal cornerback

Why do you do this lol?

Do what? Express my opinion? Isn't that what message boards are for?

With regard to Baylen Buchanan, I've been high on him since his freshmen year. He has an air of intelligence and confidence to his game that is beyond his years. He reminds me a lot of 90s CB Eric Davis that played for the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers. Eric Davis made 2 pro-bowls. I feel Baylen can do the same. He's not a superstar talent like Cam Sutton. But he's good enough to be a high level starter in the NFL for many years.

How do you know this? The kid has barely played, and when he has played he's gotten roasted. Has Pruitt given you exclusive access to all the practices? lol

Corner will be a weak spot in 2018 and probably 2019, until Pruitt can recruit some corners and really put his stamp on that group. Corner play has been atrocious at Tennessee for a number of years now. Before Cam Sutton, the last Tennessee cornerback to be drafted was Jonathan Wade in 2007.

For all the position groups to get high on and troll about, I suggest you pick another, because corner is one of the weakest position groups for us and has been for a long time.
