Battlefield 4

They should have removed the Battlefield name. Myself and others compared it to Battlefield and it failed.

Never tried Hardline because it became apparent, before its release, that it would be cut from the COD-styled cloth.

I've lost all interest in the twitch-shooter sub genre; we should demand more depth and substance for our gaming dollars.

I still think BFBC2 and BF3 are the best. I wish they would re-release BF3 on PS4/XB1. BF4 really didn't add anything IMO.

BC2 was the last time they put much effort into the maps, lots of terrain features and flanking routes, etc.

After that they were linear with small, designed "battle areas" that were more or less unavoidable. The only maps on BF4 that actually had some thought put into them were the China Rising ones.

Are the China Rising ones the ones that are in the jungle and ****? Those were my favorites as well. The Naval Assault was the biggest disappointment to me

BC2 ruled. Favorite BF to this day. Great maps that were just right for the number of players; I never felt like I was miles away from the action. The amount of destructible environments haven't been as good since imo. It was also designed for consoles, not a subpar PC port like 3 & 4 (however, I did have some fun with 3).

I hope BC2 is backward compatible

Never gave it a shot, but I'm at a point where a shooter is a shooter, they're all more or less the same.

Don't see myself getting a replacement for BF4 unless something like Operation Flashpoint comes along.

Wait.................did you same Operation Flashpoint? LOL

Some friends of mine told BF5 is coming out this November...
Does anyone have info on this? Thanks :hi:

A long time ago I saw they were looking at 2016, but who knows with these clowns.

Even if it is 2016 the way the past two Battlefield releases have gone, you might as well wait 6 months after release if you want a playable game. BF4 was almost unplayable the first couple months.

If you were patient and didn't mind losing server connection every 15 min, restarting your game every hour, server browser not loading the servers, or didn't mind being 1 of 7 people that could actually make it into a game, then one might have enjoyed BF4 release. I wasn't playing BF3 when it was released but I heard it was just as bad.

I'm excluding BF Hardline. Didn't play it. But from what I've heard it is not a good game.

Honestly 3 years later and I still have all those problems on most games when they first release.

Should I pick up BF? It looks pretty fun.

It's not a bad game, I ended up giving it up because it seemed every game was full of Brazilians and Arabs which made it borderline unplayable. To be honest I haven't played since Labor Day or so so I can't give input on how it works now
