Battle @ Bristol ...surrounding area

I've lived here for a little more than 17 years now and it is a lot better than it was when I moved here traffic wise. Still not as layed back as the tri cities. Another of my uncles was the director of Holston defense for about 20 years before BAE leased it. Did you see where dupont bought Dow? I definitely miss the tri cities, but knoxville isn't to bad.
If there is another place besides Tri Cities it would be Knoxville for me but for now I love the slow pace here. Good talking to you maybe I will see you in Bristol and if your not tailgating feel free to come to mine.

Are there any decent bars/clubs in bristol to get out for the night?

There are a few in Bristol. You are probably better off looking in Johnson City for that kind of thing though. Numans is a good pool hall. Freiburgs is a great little German pub. The Down Home is good for a little Blue Grass. There's Tipton St, Capone's and a Comedy Zone. There are plenty more. With ETSU in town there is no shortage of watering holes. I'm a little to old for clubs these days but there have always been a few, i assume there still are.

Both schools sold their 44,000 they were each allotted, I believe 44,000 was the number. And the rest were all sold almost entirely to Bristol Motor Speedway season ticket holders. The remainder of tickets that were left were all sold Friday Oct 2 to people who went to stand in line all morning to purchase them.
The one year I did not donate to Tennessee Fund they had tickets to Battle at Bristol. I had to wait till 1am-11am to get 4 tickets. We all had fun though... drinking beer, talking and playing cornhole. I could only imagine what a massive tailgate party it will be... it will make The Worlds Largest Cocktail Party look like The Worlds Largest Slumber Party.

Greeneville (with a e) has lodging but limited so make a reservation early! If you play golf Graysburg Hills outside of Greeneville is the best course and about 35 mins from the speedway .

When I played a lot of golf me and my buddies would drive from Knoxville to play that course. We loved it.

Some good golf courses in the area.

Meadowview in Kingsport.

The Virginian near Bristol.

Kingsport has Bays Mt park, Warriors St Path park and Boone Lake. Downtown has started getting a couple restaurants but overall the nightlife in the region is all in JC.

Johnson City has a solid DT bar scene and it's about 15 min from Bristol.

Both Bristol and Kingsport have a very spare nightlife.

what i prefer about JC downtown is it gives you a couple options for dining with friends, and bars if you are young. There are a couple boutiques from what i gather driving by, and, antique stores. My friend and his wife are all into the antiquing, and travel frequently to any store that offers them. Jonesboro has a few more shops too.

Definitely would recommend you go to Johnson City for that. Besides 620 State on State St, Bristol bars can be redneck and rough. There is one place on State St in Bristol, Borderline Billiards. That place is the stuff and has a cool atmosphere. They have a full bar, food, billiards, darts, and music/ballgames. Would highly suggest if you like those kinds of spots to check it out.

I didn't read all 12 pages of replys but if you're still looking try a cabin or houseboat rental at Lakeshore marina on Watauga Lake. It's located just south of Elizabethton.

With Boone Lake being a puddle, Watauga prices will probably sky rocket.

What about that marina on south holston, I believe it was was laurel cove marina just off of hwy 421 before the bridge. Just wondering if they have rentals.
