I could post to a site all night and say what could be true.

Mike Hamilton is on his way to a cemetary to exhume Bear Bryant. Closing in on a deal worth $35 million for 5 years. Not saying it's gonna happen, but it could.

See how simple that was?

Hubbs is saying but he has been wrong before. I am going to be and I hope to wake up to hear at least Cut is not our coach.

For those of you saying you question whether he has any college experience, I'll answer you by saying that he does: 12 years of it, to be exact.

Ok, guys........Just because he hasn't been successful every single year in the NFL doesn't mean he wouldn't be good on the college level. Look at Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier etc. etc. Except he has had quite a bit more success then any of those guys.

It also doesn't mean that he would be good on the college level. All I'm looking at is his head coach resume, and, aside from one year, I'm not that impressed. They have consistently underachieved.

It's what happens when you have God-awful QB's.

Hyams and Hubbs said there is no way Lovie would come here today on Sports Talk. That being said, I am totally ruiting for this just so Hyams will be dead wrong again.

Yeah. Hyams kept saying that it was going to be Cutcliffe, and it that didn't happen Kippy was going to get it.

In his eyes it was going to be no one else. So we can assume it will be anyone other than Cutcliffe or Brown.

Why does wikipedia keep putting it on the page and taking it off?

Because anybody, even you, can edit a Wikipedia article to make it say whatever you want. There is no approval process or anything; you click "edit," make your changes, hit "save," and then that's what the article says. Some jokers keep going on there and adding the stuff about UT in, and somebody somewhere keeps fixing it over and over again.

Wikipedia's an incredibly useful resource, but that's why you should always be at least a little bit skeptical of literally anything that it says. It is not authoritative.

true, but he still has another year as a head coach in the NFL

Yeah, in the same way Zorn was Head Coach at the Redskins.

Both were stripped of playcalling duties (Smith/D Zorn/O) and remained at HC in title only. They have no personnel impact, no decision making abilities, etc.

The Bears didn't want to pay his buyout. Smith isn't happy there and the Bears aren't happy with him.

I don't think this would work out in our favor at all. I'm not sure he's that great of a head coach.
Have any of you ever seen Lovie ever talk into the headset?
I swear he's never been shown on TV talking to any coach. He just sits there staring.

I could be wrong, he might be a genius, but from the outside he doesn't impress me.

Of course none of the 120 coaches I've heard we've hired impress me very much either. I guess he would be at the top of an unimpressive list.

My god, could we be trying to hire a coach at a worst time? No good HC's available, just lost our HC 3 weeks before NSD.

Smith's buyout is 11 million, and he would around 4 million. Combine that with Fulmer's buyout, I'm not sure UT can swing it.
