Something is definitely going on. I just think there's a lot more to it than him angling for the Browns job. There's probably a half dozen GM jobs that will come open and I'm sure he'd be a candidate for a couple of them if he showed interest. He doesn't need Haslam. Having said that, he's obviously sided with the Haslams on this for some reason. I just don't know why.

agreed. The Colts GM job is his if he wants it, he doesnt need nor should he want the Browns GM job....I dont get it.

Vol Twitter and most UT fans are the reason for the mess the program is in. No fan has made a difference in a positive way for anyone during this debacle. Proving only further why we will be a laughingstock for at least another decade. Big thanks Vol Twitter...... True humanitarians......

Not sure a few fans on twitter would cause an AD to back out of a public offer.

My guess is boosters called threatening to pull donations. The people an AD might actually listen to.

Any gig with the Browns seems like a career killer in the NFL. Surely PM wouldn't hurt the University for that.

A few fans? Painting The Rock accusing a man of a heinous crime isn't a reason a contract could fall apart? Major donors signed off on Schiano, it was in place. The fact of it is the fans and their inability to control their emotions have been only detrimental to the football program. People are even calling for Rick Barnes to be on the hot seat. This has became a remedial fan base over the last decade. That's the simple fact of the matter. Its easy to see.

Are we sure Currie isn't trying to get fired?

I mean, there are dozens of coaches who, even after everything, would take the job in a heartbeat. Who fans would be happy enough with.

The only thing that makes sense to me, at this point, is that he's trying to get that buyout.

Based on what ????? He has never been an AD at any level! He knows football...can he make decisions about baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball or any other sport? One decade of dominance in football does not make you a proven commodity as an AD. He never got above special advisor level at ETSU and didn't even have any say in their final hire of the new football coach. Just because someone was associated with UT's football program does not make them great at everything.

I would agree, except it is a few fans. Social media, then picked up by traditional media amplifies the actions of a few clueless fans. Very embarrassing.
