Basilio reporting now 6:15

lol there is no one left to tell us "no". Give it up. Kiffin is not coming here. Tee is to raw and we would be setting him up to fail before his career even begins. Petersen is not leaving the Great North West. Brohm is evidently not the guy. Cutcliff has already said "not no" but "hell no" the same with Gundy. Morris is out (nobody wanted him either). Charlie Strong is a nonstarter. If Scaino's baggage was to much Petrino's is, well, just as bad. Campbell is a non-starter. Running out of candidates rapidly. The only big name out there crazy enough to take it is Leeach and unfortunately, he sued his previous employer sooooo. This guy may be our only choice. It is what it is.

Oh, and Miles is Fulmer 2.0. Sumlin would probably give it a look, but he's a West of the Mississippi man and just got fired.

Everyone might want to consider bringing it down a notch or two and think this through. We do not want to force a rushed hire through which is what a lot of us are suggesting we do. I know the early signing looms over the current process, but we might want to consider sacrificing a recruiting class to get a better coach. If we do not get the right coach, we could find ourselves with multiple bad recruiting classes. Also, there are likely to be some additional coaches available after bowl season, or as the NFL season winds down. It could turn out we get a much better hire then. Or, I could be delusional from all the anxiety I have recently experienced. Enough for now, I need to go treat my newly acquired ulcer.

Ok. I spend alot of time near Chicago and am very familiar with Northern Illinois University and their football program...I keep up with it let's say. You remember when NIU made it to the Orange Bowl vs Fla St. a few years back? Well that was Doeren as coach. 2 consecutive MAC titles taking NIU to heights it had never experienced before. Undersized team played beyond itself. Just sayin'. He recruited well for a MAC school like NIU. Which led to his gig at NC State. I know his record there isn't stellar...but I know they SHOULD have beat Clemson last year...if not for a bad fg kicker...they HAD that game. So...just something to consider.

This is what I was afraid of that Peyton has aligned himself politically, socially, etc. with the Haslams.

Can't believe Peyton has fallen into this nonsense, and I can almost guarantee you it's all about politics.

It’s because he wants to be GM of the Cleveland Browns so he’s going to be Haslam’s yes man to ensure he gets it. He’s becoming a sell out sounds like to me.

Butch SHOULD have beat OU and he was ahead of bama with a minute less. Only winning matters.

Let's hope he doesn't sign anyone tonight then.

I'm sorry, but you don't get it.
Currie is NOT the problem.
The PROBLEM is the Haslam appointed Admin at UT and really doesn't give a crap less about UT Football. They are too stupid to get it and in the Culture they were raised in and come from, they will never get it.

Firing Currie with cleaning house with Davenport and Captain D will not fix anything.

Your HERO Peyton is also in the middle ON the wrong side.

Its almost over Buttercup././//////

Drag out the mattresses and light em up boys!! Time to take it to the streets again!!

C'mon guys. IF...we hire Doeren it's a done deal and pulling the same stuff as the Schiano thing will do absolutely no good except make us look even more horrible in the national media. If we can stop it...fine but once it's done it's done and burning mattresses and looking like psychos won't help us one bit.

I don't like it either..but i'll try and put positive spin on it cuz it is what it is. Right now all we can do is salvage something positive from a horrible situation and hope for the best...or as individuals (Butch-ism) we can decide not to buy tickets or support the University but a mass protest AFTER the hire will only make us look worse than we already do.

If Currie is going to hire Doeren, heck he might as well hire me. At least I'm undefeated as a college coach. Of course, I'm winless too, but I'm sure I could do at least as well as Doeren is going to do at UT.

True...but he Doeren was competitive vs the eventual national champion and it wasn't blown decisions that cost em that Clemson game..it was a lousy kicker.

I'm not that excited about Doeren either...but there are at least SOME positives to take if we hire him. This whole thing is such a mess...I know that.

Thanks for the info. Serious. I'm rethinking my stance on him. Who else we got? Nobody it appears. And I am totally against Tee. Would rather have Les Miles at this point. But appears UT will go after Butch 2.0.

Currie, Peyton and haslums all butt hurt because they lost control of the sheep. Thank social media for our unity. Without it we would have old shatno.

HOW do you people know who's acceptable and who's not? You whined for Gruden for weeks when it's obvious he doesn't want to put in the work required to be successful. You used a manufactured scandal to blackball Schiano. What makes any of you experts on who can and who can't coach? There are a lot of good coaches who are bad fits in a given situation. If Doeren is the hire, get your collective panties out of a wad and support him. Ultimately it's about the players, not YOU, not the ADMIN, and not the fat cat BOOSTERS. I'm a 33 year veteran successful coach at the High School level who understands what a pain in the butt outside interference can be.

Cry me a river. Everyone is not willing to bend over and grab their ankles.

**** the national media and what they think of us. We, as fans of Tennessee, are sick of mid-major/.500 coaching hires. We're mad as ****, and we aren't going to take it anymore.

If this happens maybe we can recreate the Vols at UTC. I'm so sick of this bullcrap. It's like expecting government to change.

You reap what you sow. I told everyone on here that not hiring Schiano was a mistake, he would've done a good job here. Now we are left with the dirt at the bottom of the shoe. Quite frankly if we are shooting this low then we might as well go for a rookie HC like Tee Martin. At least then I could see some logic in that move whereas Doeren makes zero sense, period.

Heck, we should just go for Bobby Petrino or Lane Kiffin at this point. But Schiano would've been decent, as I've said before. He would've brought a much stronger teaching pedigree to our coaching staff.

You believe he would have been a good choice

I don’t

Not hiring Brohm was a mistake the bot will regret

He is a good coach

Been a Member for years, Graduate as well as a Daughter that graduated in 2015. This is way worse than anything I have ever seen on virtually any level, and I have seen some F...ed up things over the years. Gathering up all the Tennessee garb, setting it on Fire... Going to have a nice Roast for the new Coach..

I tried this once in highschool.
Me: teacher remember that time I scored really high on the test.
Teacher: yes
Me: well I also had those 2 quizzes that went great.
Teacher: yes that is true
Me: so I think you should give me an A.
Teacher: So I guess I should ignore all the D and C grades you scored and just focus on the good ones huh?

Ok. Never really happened. Didn't get even a C through grad school, but you get the picture.
