Lovie Smith is a very rich man who is about to become VERY, VERY rich.

Hope we know what we are doing or this will be a very expensive experiment..

Lovie does not need help getting out of his buyout...He would accept less than 11 million to leave. So the Bears would pay 3 million, and UT would do 6 years at 4 million a year.

Smith would have wanted nfl money at UT---he's not worth anywhere close to $5-7 mil per year.

I know there have been numerous threads running the gamut of football coach names of all levels. The report of Lovie Smith has to be the most ludicrous.

He has underachieved with the Bears. They have failed to reach the playoffs every year since they went to the Super Bowl. The Bears still owe him $11 million. That's the only reason he hasn't been fired already. I put this ridiculousness up there with Bill Cowher, but apparently it is getting air play here in Chicago.

I'm not saying he'd be the worst hire, but he definitely wouldn't be the best.

Lovie Smiff is the most ridiculous candidate you've heard?

Were you not here when Cutty and Calhoun were set to roll up in this mutha?

Sorry to break it to you, but Lovie is easily a much better coach than anybody we have a shot with right now.
