Barnett and The Super Bowl

After the strip sack, Troy reissued the “he doesn’t have the greatest speed” line. I swear that some drunk scout wrote that down and everybody’s run with it. Simeon Rice ran a 4.5 at the combine in shorts and I’ll wager never approached that time in pads...on the field. Barnett gets there in a hurry and the QB doesn’t have much time.

yeah,i caught that too. but that's fine. keep putting him one on one 'cause "he's slow".

I think this awesome that Mr. Barnett gets to play for a Super Bowl his rookie year. They straight up boat raced the Vikings last night. Hopefully they will hit Brady so much that he will want to give up. Go Eagles. (Not so much an Eagles fan as much as I dislike the Patriots.)

I want to see a de-helmeting hit on Brady that leaves him groggy, then NE leaves him in, in an obvious violation of the concussion rule, and then NE loses anyway. Brady is suspended nine games for the violation next season and Bellicheat's has to resign in disgrace.

I know it's kind of fiction-y, but for me that would be a dream super bowl. :lolabove:

They didn’t want to give him too much credit. Said he wasn’t the fastest edge rusher around. Also Minnesota was dumb to block DB with a TE.

Glad for Barnett but too bad he plays for the Eagles. As bad as it is I'd rather see Brady win 6 than Philly 1.

Reggie White was mentioned in the same breath, they noted Barnett broke his UT sack record.

I would debate that! I still say that’s CBB system. Look at every time Brady is out. The Pats still win. It’s the system that makes him look good. A perfect example is last nights game. They couldn’t do anything until the fourth quarter. When they did start having success. It was the fantastic play calling, NOT Brady!

Agree with this. Play calling plus development. Look at the way the patriots draft players. They rarely go the big names.

Why would they suspend BRADY? Like giving an assault victim the death penalty.

Anytime the CHEATriots and Bill beliCHEAT lose a game it's a good day.

It's lots easier when the CHEATriots owner also owns the Commish.

Bob got him the job as Commish.

I always wondered how much extra $$$$ the zebras earned from the CHEATriots.

I hate that team more than any other in the NFL.

I hope DB knocks their heads off.

VFL...GBO!!!

I like Barnet's hustle. A play goes behind him, he turns around and hustles after it until it's over.

Barnett has had a great rookie season. At the end of the regular season he had 21 tackles and 5 sacks, quite a few tackles for loss overall, and 2 or 3 forced fumbles. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown and blocked a field goal attempt.

Because they're always picking near the end of the 1st round. :loco:

It's a case study in how management and coaching make such a difference. The draft process is meant to spread the wealth and foster parity...and the F'ing Patriots just keep winning.

I would love to see how many games this year did they have more penalties then the other team

In the last 5 games, New England has had less penalty yardage (73 yards combined) than Jacksonville did in the last 31 minutes yesterday.

In the last 5 games.....

NE has had 11 penalties for 73 yards

NE's Opponents have had 30 penalties for 331 yards

Just a few more stats.

There was only 1 team in the NFL that had a 300 yard advantage in penalties for the regular season. That was NE.

There has been only 1 team in the NFL that had a 100 yard advantage in the playoffs this season. That was NE.

The Patriots have played 2 teams in the playoffs. By 2 metrics (penalty difference and yard advantage), the Titans and Jaguars were the 2nd and 3rd least penalized teams in the league. In terms of both flags and yards, there was a 3.5 to 1 advantage for the Patriots combined in those 2 games.

I’d have really liked to have seen Brady play with inferior coaches and low grade talent around him. Wonder how many SBs he’d have?

Well since it’s a team game, not many? I wonder how many receptions Jerry Rice would have if Jake Locker was throwing to him??

D4H also said Fred Taylor's son would also be a hall of famer so I wouldn't put to much stock in his words. He's my favorite satire poster on volnation fwiw

I don’t take anything he says seriously.

That was more of a stab at him
