If Florida didn't blow us out yesterday as expected, I really doubt Bama has the fire power on Offense to do it

HAVE YOU WATCHED FOOTBALL THIS YEAR.
BAMMERS OFFENSE IS WAAAAAY BETTER THAN FLORIDAS

Not that anyone asked, but I'll give my opinion.

Much better coaching than under Fulmer. When you guys fell behind the game wasn't over. In years past it would have been.

Defensively it's a lot like before you guys are very tough. Eric Berry is a beast and I think he is the best defensive player in the nation.

Offensively I would say your a QB away from wreaking havoc. Hardesty looks like a totally different player. Brown and Oku are already good, but as they mature they will nearly be unstoppable.

I do see you guys upsetting someone this year. I hope it's not us. I'm saying Ole Miss. I also think you will beat UGA but I don't consider that to be an upset.

Anyway good luck and enjoy the season. Remember to be patient with the coaches. They are going to be good.

Nice post, man. Should be great seeing Kiffin go head to head with Saban for years to come.

Good post tide.

If UF don't get the middle of the DL fixed up, and find a playmaker on O aside from TT, they won't win the SEC.

Bama will.

I have watched plenty of football this year and I know that they have not got that great of an offense....Who have they played other than Va. Tech? Florida International and North Texas, we could put up that many points on those 2 teams, their defense is the strongest part of their team

I'm not saying we beat Bama by no means but what I am saying is that for people to think that Bama is going to beat us like Florida was supposed to do is wrong, they don't have the speed on the Offensive side of the football that Florida did and Monte has saw that kind of offense in the NFL, he will know how to defend it

Bama was also playing backups in the 2nd quarter against n. texas. Sure, we haven't played many good teams yet, but who has at this point? VT is a good team with a very good defense, whether you want to admit it or not, and Bama put up 498 yards in that game with a first time starter at QB. Those of you who are basing your perception of Bama's offense on last year, should watch some games. We have playmakers all over the field.

At QB

McElroy
46 of 69, 66.7%, 4 TD's 1 INT, 9.38 yds/a
Jackson
9 of 13, 69.2%, 0 TD's 0 Ints, 6.69 yds/a

AT RB

Ingram
44 carries, 297 yards, 6.8 ypc, 3 TD's
Richardson
29 carries, 215 yards, 7.4 ypc, 3 TD's
Grant
27 carries, 150 yards, 5.6 ypc, 3 TD's
Upchurch
11 carries, 107 yards, 9.7 ypc, 1 TD
Goode
5 carries, 38 yards, 7.6 ypc, 0 TD's

At WR

Mike McCoy
8 rec, 138 yds, 17.3 ypr, 1 TD
Mark Ingram
10 rec, 120 yds, 12.0 ypr, 2 TD's
Marquis Maze
6 rec, 106 yds, 17.7 ypr, 1 TD
Darius Hanks
6 rec, 94 yds, 15.7 ypr, 0 TD's
Colin Peek
6 rec, 76 yds, 12.7 ypr, 0 TD
Julio Jones
5 rec, 55 yds, 11.0 ypr, 0 TD
Earl Alexander
3 rec, 31 yds, 10.3 ypr, 0 TD's
Terry Grant
2 rec, 29 yds, 14.5 ypr, 0 TD's
Trent Richardson
3 rec, 26 yds, 8.7 ypr, 0 TD's
Brandon Gibson
1 rec, 21 yds, 21.0 ypr, 0 TD's
Preston Dial
1 rec, 19 yds, 19.0 ypr, 0 TD's
Brad Smelley
3 rec, 12 yds, 4.0 ypr, 0 TD's
Michael Bowman
1 rec, 7 yds, 7.0 ypr, 0 TD's

Notice Julio hasn't been involved much in those numbers. VT put half their defense on him, and he hasn't played much since due to injury/blowout. Also pay attention to the "yards per carry" and "yards per reception" lines.

Obviously, those stats wouldn't be as good if we'd played 3 top 10 teams up to this point, but, my point is, they're still very good. OC, McElwain has opened up the playbook this year and it shows. Last year, our passing game NEVER looked as good as it has to this point, and as you can see, our running game hasn't suffered at all.

I'm not posting this as any kind of comparison to UT whatsoever. I just keep seeing people talk about Bama's offense being "not good" or that we're heavily run-dominant. Neither of which are true.

Personally, trash talk is just that. Leave all the BS on the boards, let it be decided on the grid iron! Stats, whatever are for the sportscasters......Best team wins!

I really didn't think the Vols would be right in the middle of all the smack this early. I love the SEC!!!!!!

the problem is we are scaring the crap out of the rest of the SEC,,so they gotta rag UT.

:lolabove:

A 1-2 start and we're scaring the SEC? I think I would wait until we at least get to .500 before I'd say we could potentially be sending shockwaves....
