Most of you blabbering on about this don't even know what you're talking about. You just see a chance to pile on Alabama.
The fact that Alabama, who isn't in the NCAA's best graces, is getting a slap on the wrist should be enough to tell you that it wasn't a big deal.
Players found a way to get extra books. The only proof anybody has is that the extra books were given to girlfriends/boyfriends/etc. Could some of the players (and by the way only a very few of them were football players) have sold some of the books? I wouldn't be surprised. But there is no proof or accusation of that. There are also records that these players didn't get large numbers of extra books. It was just a few, which coincides with the evidence that they just got them for friends.
And, who the hell cares? It's fixed. UT has had about 150 players in jail the past few years. Are you trying to tell me that your "high character" players wouldn't exploit this loophole if they found it? How do you know they aren't doing it right now?
It's TEXTBOOKS, people. Find another excuse for losing.
I'm sorry the NCAA peed in your cheerios this morning. If it really isn't a big deal, then you have nothing to be sensitive about.
And of course all schools have their skeletons in the closet. It's just that Alabama's closet is beginning to resemble the catacombs of Rome.

Yep, Operation Get Your Girlfriend a Math Book was a success! BCS bowl, here we come!
You're a sad sad group.
And by the way, word is leaking out that I was only partially right in my other post. We will get probation as I said, but not scholarship losses. There will also possibly be some vacated wins from the '07 season.
It's also hilarious that a bunch of mouth-breathing hillbillies find cause to make fun of Alabama. You're TENNESSEE, not New York, not California.
And it gets SO old hearing the "waaah wahhah you cheated!" garbage. Get over it. Alabama paid for the things that happened in the 90's. HEAVILY. A few students getting some extra textbooks isn't exactly an advantage on the field. Spare me the crap about all the other ways we "must be cheating". It just makes you look petty.
So does this mean that Kiffin and the big O are culpable along with Carroll? If so then you have no issue with cheaters on your staff. If carroll is as dirty as alot of you think he is, then the staff is dirty right along with him.
How many Boyfriends, etc, do your football players have? Most of you blabbering on about this don't even know what you're talking about. You just see a chance to pile on Alabama.
