Bama Textbook Scandal Not Over...More Serious Than First Thought

Listen up Teague, I couldn't give a flying rat's ass about Bammers troubles and don't know why we are discussing this drivel on this board.

As evidenced by the fact that you have about 150 posts in a thread titled "Bama Textbook Scandal Not Over.........."

Most of you blabbering on about this don't even know what you're talking about. You just see a chance to pile on Alabama.

The fact that Alabama, who isn't in the NCAA's best graces, is getting a slap on the wrist should be enough to tell you that it wasn't a big deal.

Players found a way to get extra books. The only proof anybody has is that the extra books were given to girlfriends/boyfriends/etc. Could some of the players (and by the way only a very few of them were football players) have sold some of the books? I wouldn't be surprised. But there is no proof or accusation of that. There are also records that these players didn't get large numbers of extra books. It was just a few, which coincides with the evidence that they just got them for friends.

And, who the hell cares? It's fixed. UT has had about 150 players in jail the past few years. Are you trying to tell me that your "high character" players wouldn't exploit this loophole if they found it? How do you know they aren't doing it right now?

It's TEXTBOOKS, people. Find another excuse for losing.

I'm sorry the NCAA peed in your cheerios this morning. If it really isn't a big deal, then you have nothing to be sensitive about.

And of course all schools have their skeletons in the closet. It's just that Alabama's closet is beginning to resemble the catacombs of Rome.

I have seven posts in this pathetic thread, including this one, and every one of them is making fun of or deriding you bammers. None regarding the silly ass topic of the thread.

I'm pretty happy. I was afraid we'd lose a couple of scholarships. I'm just here laughing at your responses to the penalties.

He was just looking for someone to take a swing at, and went for the squirrel. There's no motivating logic behind it.

We could commit a major NCAA infraction and forfeit an entire season's worth of games. That would be a new one.

Man, you just like to make up crap don't ya.

I admit, I didn't go back and count to be sure it was 150 posts, but judging by how many times I've seen that little squirrel avatar pop up in Bama-related threads, I'm going to stick to my original statement.

Without scholarship losses or television/bowl penalties, it's all a joke. You should be laughing. You guys got away with it.

Yep, Operation Get Your Girlfriend a Math Book was a success! BCS bowl, here we come!

You don't have to convince me that it wasn't murder. I agree it wasn't a huge deal. But it was against the rules and it did happen when you were on probation.

If a guy gets out of the slammer for grand theft auto, and then breaks the terms of his probation by being a little late checking in, he is still risking going back to jail.

Isn't there still another investigation upcoming with the "runners". You can tell Bammers boosters graduated from ..well...bama. they have got to be the dumbest people to ever be associated with college football.

You're a sad sad group.

And by the way, word is leaking out that I was only partially right in my other post. We will get probation as I said, but not scholarship losses. There will also possibly be some vacated wins from the '07 season.

It's also hilarious that a bunch of mouth-breathing hillbillies find cause to make fun of Alabama. You're TENNESSEE, not New York, not California.

And it gets SO old hearing the "waaah wahhah you cheated!" garbage. Get over it. Alabama paid for the things that happened in the 90's. HEAVILY. A few students getting some extra textbooks isn't exactly an advantage on the field. Spare me the crap about all the other ways we "must be cheating". It just makes you look petty.

Not an advantage on the field...Just cheating...

Alabama fan calling anything Tennessee "hillbilly" is just precious

Have you ever been to Alabama? There are few hills around Huntsville, but nothing worth calling them hillbillies over. It's essentially just flat and boring.

I think his point was hillbillies are much higher on the evolution chain than inbread bamers.

So does this mean that Kiffin and the big O are culpable along with Carroll? If so then you have no issue with cheaters on your staff. If carroll is as dirty as alot of you think he is, then the staff is dirty right along with him.

don't forget Lance since he is tainted by saban. Big group of cheaters on the Hill huh?

How many Boyfriends, etc, do your football players have? :post-4-1090547912:

This is my point exactly. Most of you have no clue what you're talking about. The LARGE majority of the players caught doing this were NOT football players. They were track and field athletes and athletes from other sports. I assume quite a few of the women have boyfriends.

And I stick to my original statement that you're a sad group - wanting to win off the field because you'r afraid of what's happening on the field - not ALL of you, but most of you. I don't want anything to happen with Auburn or Tennessee with the ncaa. I don't want you crybabies to have any excuses.
