Bailey took every snap during scrimmage

He held on the ball too long.

Instead of just throwing the ball away to avoid taking a sack, he stands there like a statue waiting for the defender to tackle him.

The O-Line isn’t very good I admit, but he’s had plenty of time in the system to learn the basics. He can’t read a defense to save his life.

He didn't have time to do anything, particularly when hit from blindside because of missed blocks. At this point, if there was a better option at quarterback, they'd be out there. JG is our best shot at winning. I've been around football a very , very, very long time and I'll trust my judgement of what I see happening on the field as much as you do yours

We don’t know if there’s a better option because Pruitt won’t give the other guys a chance. How will we ever know?

That Oline has 4 future NFL starters on it.
The past 4 years the oline has looked bad.

Who has been QB during that time?
Is that a coincidence?

If you twist and bring a delayed blitz the blitzer has a wide lane to run through. JG will sit there and take the sack when he had 3 seconds to throw. He's done this so many times and it's on film. He can't see when they are about to bring 6 (on more than can be blocked) and he'll take the sack.

All of this makes the Oline look bad.

I feel sorry for Trey Smith that he has had to try and protect JG for 4 years now.

No he absolutely is not...

Covid has messed up the whole schedule of getting the younger quarterbacks ready, particularly Harrison Bailey. If there was a better option than JG, they'd be out there. Too much missed practice.

Because Diwon Mathis is better than Stetson Bennett? Right?

I mean coaches never get it wrong.
It's a wonder how they ever get fired!! They're never wrong...

To me this means he let Bailey get the snaps because he's had the least amount of practice among the qb's. Nothing more, nothing less. The kid missed spring practice and majority of fall camp. It doesn't hurt JG, Maurer, or Shrout. JG has 5yrs of practicing and 4yrs of playing experience. Shrout has 1yr on scout team, 2yrs of practice and some game experience. Maurer has 1yr of practice and 4 games of experience. I may be off on some of that, but you get the gist.

This is also how I take it. And also why I think that, if Bailey is to take over this year, starting him against Arkansas makes sense. The off week prior can also be used to make up for the loss of spring/preseason practice. He’ll have 2 weeks to get ready after the Bama game. And since I’m guessing Guarantano will look bad against Bama, the timing to make a change will work.

This reminds me of Dobbs , Butch played Worley and Peterman before Dobbs finally got a chance and he blew it away. We have a better QB on this team I don't care what anyone says, I've seen it with my own 2 eyes. It's time we go with youth over experience because the experienced one is not good at all

You honestly think pruitt is going to get fired for JG? Really? You’re aware they just extended him right? JG probably won’t be here next year, if he is he will not be the starter.
Would you say the 4-6 or worse this year puts his job in jeopardy????
I say it does and its a very real possibility....if that happens he will have 1 more year to make something big happen with either a QB with little to no experience or JG for a 6th year...

the fact is we may have better options (and do). Practice doesn’t always translate to in game (JG, Peterman, Worley). Pruitt never gave the other guys a legitimate shot, but gives JG entirely too much.

Also, to add. No matter what Pruitt is going to ride or die on JG. No, Pruitt isn’t or is even close to a hot seat, nor should he be. The point is, give one of these guys a legitimate shot.
To the JG guys who says he does enough. Let’s talk on this. Does he, somewhat. Games we should win by a mile end up being close games. Seems to me, how are the new guys going to develop if they can’t get in game snaps.
however let us reflect to our dark lord: “You don’t have to get a physical rep to get a rep. You can get a leadership rep.”

Recruits can't get excited for a 5th year senior trotting out on the field and giving the same results year after year which is play just good enough over the lower tier teams to keep his job only to get blown out the by the elite teams of the conference. It's getting old.

Exactly right.

I agree , so many are giving all blame to JG( and he deserves his fair share) but that O line was terrible . Ga D line had their way with them.
And good QB's make plays in this situation all the time, at least not turning the ball over 'x' # of times
