Bailey took every snap during scrimmage

Because there werelimited reps in Spring and Fall, JG was the best option. I hope is that Shrout or Bailey are ready after Bama. I am glad Bailey finally got to get some reps this weekend. I would not play anyone until after Bama.

JG should get some blame, but everyone had to know that Georgia was going to bring pressure in the 2nd half, so there should not have been any plays where JG holds the ball more than 2 seconds. 2 reads and if nothing there get rid of it. It should have been the playbook we used against Auburn.

This time should have been swing pass to Banks, Velus Jones and Chandler. Throws to the outside for Palmer and sometimes pitches to Chandler or Banks.

All those runs up the middle and those plays where JG dropped backed and went through his progressions should never have happened in the second half. In the second half...should have been 1-2 reads and if that wasn't open throw the ball out of bounds.

Any QB on the roster would have had the same issues. You don't throw a freshman QB in against the number 1 defense in the country to build confidence. I haven't lost hope on JG, I think everyone felt the OL would hold up better.

Not sure where all the consternation comes from ref JG, if UT had a better option available I’m pretty sure we would have seen it by now. Once the streak was broken it flipped immediately back to JG....what I saw was an OL full of 5 and 4 stars, mostly very experienced, that were dominated. When that happens, few QB’s give their best performance. The OL was ranked top 3 in SEC by most, top 1-2 by some. Not yet. OL should have at least held their own based upon pedigree, never happened.

Could be UGA def was that good and dominated? The best collegiate defense I’ve ever seen was 1992 Bama. I was a sophomore that yr and think we lost 17-10. Too small if a sample size to say if UGA D is as good but they reminded me of 1992 Bama.

We'll see what they do with BAMA offense this weekend. If they shut them down they're legit.

Bama, UGA and Clemson all recruit elite QBs every yr. Freshmen (Tua and Lawrence) have replaced upper class men. We have to get to that point.

In the SEC, who is rolling with a freshman QB? Bazelak at Mizzou is a redshirt freshman, by the way. Just doesn't happen very often.

Shrout is probably the only one that should or could be capable.

I'm not suggesting HB is the best option, just that we should have *some* kind of option available. Shrout is who I want to see first, then BM if he is good to go. I would save HB for blowout time if we can make that happen.

My point is most teams (even SEC) would have tried something during the Georgia meltdown. We didn't. I refuse to believe that Shrout or maybe BM in that instance wouldn't have been better than a rattled JG.

We will only beat who we are supposed to if that with JG. Has Pruitt given up?
No, it's just going to take him longer to figure out what's not working or until JG is gone. Whichever comes sooner. Luckily, there's no other game managers on the roster after him.

Banks cannot hold onto the ball, one of the reasons he was moved to LB. Did you mean Crouch?

Funny how JG’s mistakes are viewed differently than Maurer or Shrout.
Maurer got more of a leash...at least initially. Of course the JG alternative was much worse than the present situation. Shrout’s was microscopic. He looked like he ALMOST attempted a throw that shut him down like a modern day Joey Matthews. With their advanced minds it must have been calamitous.

Only guy that didn’t miss practice time for one thing or the other. It’s a true thing. I honestly believe someone else would’ve beaten him out.
That may very well be the case, but he should of been replaced by “anyone” after his third turnover.

Trying not to read between the lines too hard here but it appears that he's telling JG that if he screws up one more time, he's gone. That's the only thing I can think of to justify putting another quarterback into the scrimmage for the entire time yet saying the key is not your starting quarterback. It looks like it's pretty much a foregone conclusion. This is starting to smell like a coach getting fired. They're not going to say it yet but they're already looking for a new coach behind the scenes.
