Bailey MUST start against Kentucky

Y the frack not!!!!!
JG just isn’t a reliable option. He is so bipolar streaky he makes Kanye look cucumber cool
He's really not streaky. He just crumbles under any pressure. Add to that he has zero awareness and can't 'make things happen' (see the crumbles under pressure comment).

UT should be able to beat UK even with JG, and we're not beating Bama with any QB on this roster. So leave JG in for now, and spend that time getting the next QB as ready as you can. Make the switch after the Bama game, and go from there. The O/U is back to 5.5, and UT isn't winning the SEC this year anyway, so use those last 5 games to set up for 2021.

Go Vols.

Not sure if he's up to speed or not since covid killed camp but I am in favor of giving JT or Maurer the start in KY and see what happens.
Seemed liked JG played better last season there at the end when he came in off the bench for a while.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bailey though

Little benefit in trotting out another QB at this point. The game is lost. JG cannot compete at this level and we lack the coaches to make up the difference. Our best hope is that JG hangs it up at season’s end.
No such luck unless UT expels him for
disciplinary or a criminal infraction.

The only thing I hate more than losing is knowing you're going to lose because of who your QB is.
I used to have hope with QBs. I have zero hope of UT having a successful day of offense against a good team with JG. It Pruitt says he's sticking with JG I have no desire to watch the rest of the season (of course I will, just saying zero excitement).

It won’t happen and it’ll kill what little confidence JG has left. They’ve put their chips in on JG. It’s that simple.
Meehh gotta be ready to move on at some point.
Oh well season is still young and we went on a roll last season although it wasn't an all SEC season like this year is:(

prove me wrong!

We have a QB coach that was a Heisman winner, and a head coach that has been on 5 national championship teams. If they seriously thought we had a better alternative QB in our stable, they would be playing. JG is the best we have right now. It is what it is.

But at some point you have to bench someone him and give the backup a chance. We constantly hear about getting players on the field. Why in the world did he leave JG in the game after that last score? Put Shrout in and see if he earns playing time.

Someone different should start. There are three options and last time there was a credible report HB was still 3rd.

I do not know what HB brings. If he throws guys open and anticipates throws then that's a step in the right direction. Maurer is the guy who has proven he can manage a pocket and hit quick throws that prevent teams from blitzing... but he had some other weaknesses. If those have not improved then he's not really the guy either.

UGA is just a great team and JG hasn't really done anything against great teams in his time at Tennessee.

He's had some great games against good teams, but not nothing against great teams.

I do not understand Pruitt not getting Maurer or Shrout or Bailey mop up time here.

I think he was trying to give JG a chance to end on something positive and hope that carried over to next week. And that right there tells us all that JG will be the starter as long as he is still on the roster. Sure during practice when he can’t be hit he looks great, but real pressure gets to him.

Let’s all just hope he don’t utilize this free season to come back next year too.
