I never said he was ready. I won’t say that now. He’s a freshman. That’s just the way things went down and now his upside is undeniable. But throwing up these stats to discard him is ridiculous. He’s proven in very limited time that he’s the last of any of our qbs that any opposing defense wants to see. Do you really think UAB wasn’t happy as hell that he didn’t play? You’d be kidding yourself if you think otherwise.0 tds 3 ints vs Bama and MSU.
Also if he were ready, playing him wouldn't mean "throwing him to the wolves." I guess you agree he wasn't ready.
He still isn't. He gave a brief spark. Threw a TD on a great move by the wr who was wide open and threw one good td. Then has 0 tds and 4 interested since.
He has good potential though.
His passing stats (although not great) are slanted as many “stats” are. They only tell you numbers. Not how many went through a receivers hands, how many were thrown away, how many third down conversions or how many tight windows. They only tell you the end result with no explanation of how they got there. They also don’t tell you rushing totals, how many times he got away from a blitz or even rushing tds. The point is they don’t tell the story. Only the conclusion. So I don’t understand yours and a few others obsessions with stats when the product is right in front of your eyes. I feel like stat junkies don’t trust what they see.
