Bailey is the future.

0 tds 3 ints vs Bama and MSU.

Also if he were ready, playing him wouldn't mean "throwing him to the wolves." I guess you agree he wasn't ready.

He still isn't. He gave a brief spark. Threw a TD on a great move by the wr who was wide open and threw one good td. Then has 0 tds and 4 interested since.

He has good potential though.
I never said he was ready. I won’t say that now. He’s a freshman. That’s just the way things went down and now his upside is undeniable. But throwing up these stats to discard him is ridiculous. He’s proven in very limited time that he’s the last of any of our qbs that any opposing defense wants to see. Do you really think UAB wasn’t happy as hell that he didn’t play? You’d be kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

His passing stats (although not great) are slanted as many “stats” are. They only tell you numbers. Not how many went through a receivers hands, how many were thrown away, how many third down conversions or how many tight windows. They only tell you the end result with no explanation of how they got there. They also don’t tell you rushing totals, how many times he got away from a blitz or even rushing tds. The point is they don’t tell the story. Only the conclusion. So I don’t understand yours and a few others obsessions with stats when the product is right in front of your eyes. I feel like stat junkies don’t trust what they see.

Thank goodness you don't have a guy lol.
I’ll be the first to admit I do. And if one was here or coming that was better than he is I’d admit it. But there isn’t.

Now get Justin Fields to UT and all bets are off. Everybody needs to transfer.

Just giving you a hard time. Maurer clearly has the highest ceiling. I just wish we didn't have to expose him yet.

For sure - regardless of what people may be arguing about who should be starting QB right now, I think everybody would agree with those points.

Now that I can roll with because it true. I thought going into this season JG was the best chance because Maurer is a freshman. In some ways he still is due to experience. But if that’s all..... well.....

What gets me is the seeming hate for one to support another. I’m all in on BM. That’s no secret but I don’t talk sh** about the others. I don’t cherry pick stats to make BM look better. I just know what I see and trust my eyes over some stat.

The polarization is irrational and borders on fascinating to me. I've been here since Casey Clausen was getting blamed for all the world's problems and it never ceases to amaze me what folks will argue about.

We’ll argue about much more on a message board than we ever would face to face. It’s here for entertainment

So there practice squads tackle took our 5 star tackle to school? Their nose tackle and Marino will play on sunday, pretty good for a practice squad.

And now do the team element.

Because any one player can have a bad night. Even a true freshman.

If that’s your argument, it’s silly
