Baggett gone

Tennessee: Sources tell us that both Tee Martin and Larry Porter have offers to join the Tennessee staff.

source football scoop

Chaney probably makes move to OL...this would make a great offensive staff imo

You are basing all this off "reliable" posters from VN that they actually had an issue.

If you believe that you are a lost cause.
You are wrong. I know several people that work in the athletic department, two of which are associated with the FB program. Both of those along with two in the athletic department have confirmed what many posters on here have had to say about Rogers. He is a problem, has been from day one, and DD takes his side no matter what. You can believe it or not, it's fact.

Perhaps it's been mentioned and I have nothing against Wes Rucker and the 247 stuff but the Volnation free message board seemed to have this news about an hour before Wes poster a ($) article...

Wish Dooley would have backed him a lot better. 19 year olds shouldn't get their way that easy.

All these football problems just make my brain hurt....HC needs to grow a set and fix it or leave.

For the record,

It is being termed as a retirement - it's not. He was told he would be better off leaving. Both parties agreed it was for the best, but CB does not have another job lined up or even an offer yet.

This has a lot more to do with keeping Chaney and Dooley backing him up, much like Dooley did with Wilcox and Chuck Smith last year.

More changes are coming.

Stay tuned.

such as?

Does anyone know if any of our WR recruits will decommit because of CCB's departure or are they all pretty solid?

Da’Rick just tweeted “no coach like cb…ima miss my dawg”

I'm not sure moving Chaney to OL will be worth a damn. Porter would be a nice add .

That's what i figured. Unfortunately, I think we are making the wrong decision.

Chaney to the OL would be the best scenario IMO because of his success in the NFL coaching the OL. If we got Tee and Porter, our recruiting just picked up a lot of steam.

look at his avatar he is a Michigan State fan so his statement seems to have the ring of validity.

I am a Michigan State fan. Went to UF as a Freshman, then took a broken kneecap and lost scholly back home to MSU (music scholly, not athletic)

Now a TN resident and my kid is an athlete at UT. I have a pretty good interest in the school, but my interest in UT Football revolved mainly around Coach Baggett who is a great football coach. I hope MSU has him hired by the end of the day. Guys like dArnett came to UT because of Charlie Baggett. He is a great recruiter, great coach, great person. You are losing a great one. It is a sad day.

Coach Baggett was the reason I watched UT football. Sad day.

Please tell me you are kidding. I would have even tolerated you saying: "The Pride of the Southland Marching Band is the reason I watched UT football."

Watching for a coach that has been here two years?

Go away.

Now that you no longer have a reason to watch UT football, bye.

Goodbye, Mr. Baggett. You deserve retirement!

The best thing about coaching changes is that you get to revisit the absolutely goofy headshots from the UT Athletic Department.

What until you see who is hired before judging.

It could turn out that way.

But i don't think it will.

And to be honest, I loved CCB - but if it doesn't mesh it doesn't work.

Just like any organization - staff is key and if you aren't on the same page then something has to give.

I don't think that baggett being gone is much of a loss. Da'rick dropped passes in crucial situations, Zac Rogers dropped everything, and none of the other receivers emerged to take his place. Doesn't that say something about the coach
if guys aren't getting any better.

He was a great coach. Very sad to seechim leave and I only hope the best for him. What does your kid play?

I think Dooley was given the choice to cut or be cut. That is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I like Dooley. Seems like a fine upstanding fella. But I dont think he is the coach that is going to take you back to the top. I dont have any suggestions for you, but I sure wish you would take Charlie Weis of my hands. . . . wait, I would never wish that on anyone!

Dont know where it all goes from here, wish I was an insider and could put a finger on it all. Just seems like the wrong guy to cut loose.

Do you see the scenario of Chaney as OL coach (NFL and college experience), Porter/Graham as RB coach, and Martin as WR coach?
