Yes. That is a strange set of criteria, when the goal posts move with the morality eras of the country. I don't think you can back date it though, as 15 was a somewhat common and accepted age then and prior, and a 26 yo unmarried woman was an old maid. And in a lot of culture's "coming of age" made them an acceptable bride. I don't recall our history being quite so aggressive with it. But, the thought of dipping that low is violating moral and decent behavior in my book in any era or culture. Beyond acknowledging there are those places where it's not abnormal, it's gross. My church side reminds me of the verse of "whatever you do to children, you do to me." And I can easily hitch that to if they are still at home in school, dependent upon parents, they are kids (real kids, not the 30 year old basement dwellers). And even if she's 25, I'm 60 and that's still gross cause that's my kids ages.No worries. Not trying to back you into an uncomfortable corner. And the nature of the discussion is kinda creepy for us.
If 15 was suitable age back then, but pedophilia is not on a shifting scale, is the 20 year old young man who married the 15 year old in 1875 guilty of pedophilia?
Two of the drop dead prettiest girls in HS in my class. Never had boyfriends our ages. Never knew of them to have dates with anyone from 10th grade on. Always rumored they dated older guys. Only it was their life partners as it be. The two guys were bffs, as well as the two girls. They were class of 79/80. We were 83. Soon as those two graduated they married those two guys, and still are today.Like me, I'm sure you knew people you graduating High School with who never left the town and some of those losers never lost their eye for 15-18 year old HS girls. Always creeped me out.
That's neither gross nor unreasonable, and acceptable to most parents I'd presume. I had a safe harbor one time. Instant I'm gonna marry that girl thing before I even said hello. And I waited. And I followed house rules if I was close enough to ask to stop by. You ever had big mama look you in the eye and ask what your intentions are. Buddy, there were three hail marry's and a help me jesus right there on the door step. Then I made a bad choice on a cheater a few years later and ruined everything.17 and 20
16 and 19
15 and 18
If you think +2 is better
16 and 18
17 and 19
Means you cant get prosecuted if you fall within safe harbor if you are over 18.
My grandma got married to Huck when she was 14 or 15. There are several cultures where the young man or woman has a 'coming of age' celebration. It's almost like a formal this kid is ready to date and find a life partner moment.Yes. That is a strange set of criteria, when the goal posts move with the morality eras of the country. That's the thing. Most of us wouldn't bat an eye at 18-16, 18-17, 19-17, etc. Mojo's safe harbor thing. We consider it normal teen dating. But, let one piss off the others parents, or too much drama over something, and get it reported and there's no take backs. What happened is they broke up and she flipped out and told her Mom they had sex. The Mom reported it to authorities, regretted it, asked for charges to be dropped and they wouldn't drop them. So it was a prosecution that nobody even wanted, but that's why they went after him.

Having said that, I think from life experience with other teens helping out at church camp and stuff, the mental adjustment of teens, especially girls, to sex too early causes personal issues. Keep that out of it long as you can.
Hell, the seniors dating freshmen creeped me out. Of course it was in rural Knoxville/Corryton so the parents didn't seem to care.
I must have known what I'd grow up to be or something because I minded my Ps and Qs and elected to not test the bounds of legal ambiguity when it came to stuff like that.
But when I was out of high school? Boogie nights flr 18 years straight, baby.
Funny story, and true since you bring that up. My neice is one of those drop dead hot blonds. Their back yard was fenced in. Her bedroom was on corner of house outside fence. Parents BR was on back corner inside fence. BIL heard a noise one night, and it was a boy kncoking on her window trying to get her attention. The weekend project was swapping rooms. And he did actually keep a bat handy. As well as a .45 and a 44 mag.Unless your the girl dad, then you bat an eye and a ear, a forehead, a nose, ect.
Since we're confessing, I never went through a phase like that. Stayed pure. Married in 96 and so devoted to purity we're still waiting to consummate the marriage to this day.
